1976 Chrysler Cordoba, big slow, and a gas pig to boot. Owned it for 2 weeks. I think the miliatry was interested in it as a tank.

Worst car i've owned. Reliability sucked, parts were expensive, v6 engine wasn't good on gas.

On a sidenote, my GMC truck has been on par for reliability as my Hondas. It has never stranded me or given me trouble whatsoever. I've had it for a year now.

1996 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. Bought it with only 60000 kms in 1999 and it was already on its second turbo, (2) ecu's, (4) injectors, headgasket every 6 months, transmission that hated its job, etc, etc. To this day I still refuse to own any vehicle that is built by chrylser or has Bosch parts.:thumbsdow

1996 Saturn SL1
303,000 km
bought it for 1000. On the day i got my first credit card i went out and bought nice christmas presents for everyone. came outside, put the presents in the trunk, tried to drive the car, transmission went clunk, long story short, had to get a new transmission.

2 months later, driving to banff, engine started running on only 3 cylinders.. find out one of my ignition wires is broken. replace it, start car, and a piece of the headgasket goes shooting out, along with gas and oil on my windshield. and a piston explodes. Bought a new engine...

Other broken thinkg include radio attena falling off when driving and somehow piercing the rear wheel, and some skids smashed in the rear window with a medieval mace....

1982 Mazda RX7 12A
Ran pig rich, smelled of mildew and mold, stalled randomly when idling then refused to restart, would drain the battery at random usually on really inconvenient days(-40C after work at 11pm etc).
Oh and it was composed primarily of bondo with a hint of rust thrown in for strength..

Pretty decent for a winter beater

1988 Honda Civic LX

it was automatic, it was an ugly gold color with the paint peeling revealing an orange paint job underneath, the body was rusted to shits, the dash was painted baby blue & it was slow as hell. It was so out of shape that I claimed it as a write off, sold it for the car I have now, and a couple of days later, I see a guy driving it.
Hope he has as much fun with it as I did

Baby blue 88 civic 4dr
oh man where do i start
i used to put myself washing it cuz of the rust
the arm for whnseild wiper blade activation was snapped off
the trunk leaked
the glove box was missing
and it used to make a high pitched whistling noise when it went over 120 and start to vibrate
i had to floor it to go up shaganappi and it would only go like 50 on bad days

then i moved out to camp cheif hector to work and it got stolen
when i went to get it back the theives had blew the engine and it had so much dammage that it was a write off :)

all i know is the theives like tupac mcdonalds and blowing engines when jump starting them

Only owned 2 cars, worst one being my 88 Cavalier and I loved that thing for the most part... had the common TCC Solenoid problem so it stalled all the time until I got it fixed, got rearended in it leaving the University one day which ended up writing the car off cuz it bent the frame... damn unibodies~ few weeks later I was filling it up with gas ( the insurance company let me drive it until I found a new car since it still drove ) and I got hit by some guy backing up like an asshole... got 1000 bucks from him for the damages because he didn't want to go thru insurance.... good thing for me since it was allready done for... ended up making money off of that car!

I think you are confused...
I havent rant and raved about it for a long time, I maybe commented on it on here once, I have been dissatisified with it for awhile, great fuel mileage, but so far the downtime has more than wiped the fuel mileage advantage ....
My old dodge W-150 on the other hand is a great truck, far better than most of the stuff dodge sells today...over half million KM's on the original transmission and transfercase..Maxt

1982 Chevrolet Chevette.

It made a 1976 Jaguar look reliable. I had a total brake failure the first week I owned it - the brake pedal was only held to the master cylinder shaft by a wee pin and clip. I was doing 80 on Crowchild when the whole thing fell apart, dropping the pedal to the floor, useless as a GM engineer. Things went downhill from there and I was mightily relieved a year later when a Pontiac Parisienne made a left turn about 15 feet in front of me on Macleod....

1989 Dodge airies LE - all at one the; thermostat, rad, block heater, and piston rings went... on the plus side, there was a chunk of soapstone taped to the dash, a dead weasle, hand cuffs, and a suffed animal of "knuckles" all in the front with me, oh yea, and the flaming stearing wheel cover.... somebody actually stole this car...

OR

1993 Lada Samara - cheap piece of shit thats made out of recycled KGB tanks. NO exhaust system, 4 gear went missing when learing to power shift, clutch wasnt really there much to start with, shitty wiring mixed with ceramic fuses made a bad situation worse, and it finaly died when it lost the CV joint in the front. the day before pick your part came and got it, i let loose inside with a sledge hammer, it felt good man:thumbsup: .

'89 Dodge Lancer, what a piece that thing was.

Stranded me 3 times. The most severe was when 2 rocker arms decided to break going 110 km/h. That and the thing had no power at all, and could barely keep the speed limit if I was driving into a wind.

1984 Toyota Tercel aka "sparkly puke" that's what colour it was. It was like driving a coke can on the highway. So shaky at 110kph. As far as reliability, it was actually a really good car, never let me down. But as far as speed.....oh man, it had as much power as FOUR ride on lawnmowers, that's right FOUR! Don't mess with me, I'll rape your John Deere! Somebody raced it on foot one time and kicked my ass until third gear, that's when I knew it was time for an upgrade.....:banghead:

The 240's Ive owned (and currently own) are way worse than my old firefly. So many stupid little problems.

-AC never worked
-Cruise control worked when it felt like it
-No LSD
-Seatbelt doesn't retract
-Random bolts missing
-Seems like every single bolt snaps when trying to take stuff off
-Rusty as hell
-Rip in the driver seat hip bolster
-Tweed interior
-Electrical hell (lights stop working at random, or stay on for no reason)
-2 different shades of red
-Looks pink in every picture
-Foam spoiler with massive rust holes underneath it

1982 Buick Regal Sedan... 4.4L 276ci V8 with a 2 barrel carb. Slower than hell and drank gas faster than the 5.7L 4bbl in my Cutlass.

Frame ended up cracking. So it went off to the shredder.

1991 Hyundai Scoupe: My first car in highschool, wow this thing was fun, all 98hp of it heh! But it was a piece, bumper fell of when I went through a puddle one rainy day and loged under my car. It was not fun prying out from underneat my car.

1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera: Something always broke just right after I would fix something else. The only upside was parts was damn cheap. I threw it away when it scared the crap out of me this one icy day when I was heading off of deerfoot south and the engine just turned off while I was going 100. I tried to turn it back on to no avail. Turned the key so I would have control of steering wheel and brakes but both didn't work since there was no power....just prevented lock up. Long story short...I crapped my pants, my heart stopped and took transit for a good 4 months before getting a better car.

1991 Mazda Protege GT.

-Had no 3rd gear
-Wouldn't start if the temp was below +5 without being plugged in (cost me a couple days of work).
-Ebrake didn't work
-You've never heard a car squeak and groan that much when you hit a bump
-Dead drivers window
-Would completely lose power momentarily at the worst times, almost died turning left the first time it happened
-Massive exhaust hole that gave me headaches from the noise
-The shifter was so stiff (and squeaky) it wouldn't even go back to centre on its own, you had to push it and search your way into every gear
-Most disgusting feeling clutch I've ever used, that includes the forklifts I've driven

1990 Pathfinder.
Worse gas milage than my TJ with 33's,
Severely lacking power,

Get this:
I almost bought a 1987 300zx turbo, fully loaded with 150,000km for $750. The tranny in the 300zx needed to be replaced. The tranny shop in town quoted me $2300 to put a new 5speed in (originally an automatic).
I decided to buy the pathfinder instead as I didn't want to deal with tranny issues. Paid $5500 for the pathfinder, $2000 2 weeks later for engine seals, tires, and muffler, paid $1750 4 weeks later to have the tranny rebuilt ( ), and sold it a few months later for just under $4000. I've never been raped that hard in my life. 4years later, I can still feel it when I sit down.

Kris

P.S. On a side note. My friend bought the 300zx turbo for $700, spent an afternoon fixing a couple of the electronic guages and changing fluids, and sold it 2 weeks later for $3800.

Not my own, but was the ride I had access to use back then when I was still living with my parents. 1991 Ford Tempo. Ugly POS that had a discharged AC unit. Tape deck was one of those auto-reverse types, but it kept catching on the tape so any time I put a tape in, it would just switch back and forth between the 2 sides of the tape and never actually PLAYED the tape. Radiator leaked coolant all the time. Tranny was slipping horribly at any speed higher than 60. Suspension was so fucked that you had the turn the wheel about 45 degrees to the left just to keep it straight all the time. Powersteering would automatically turn back the wheel on right turns, but if you cranked it all the way on left turns, it would get stuck there and you had to pull it out of the turn manually to straighten it out. Numerous other problems I don't remember anymore but the point is my Dad probably spent more on repairs than for what he paid the car in the first place and it still ran like shit.

Yep, I have to say it. People say Toyotas are the most reliable, but that AE86 must have been the bastard child. I have YET to meet someone with an AE86 that hasn't had less that BRUTAL problems (mind you they all were not funded by a large bankroll). I know 6 people, and ALL of them had engines replaced as the LEAST of the problems, lol. Terrible cars IMO. Seems like the moment you touch them with something aftermarket or performance orientated, they shit the bed, rust out and break down. And what the main issue is, is it seems they dont know when to cut their losses, haha.

Sure there are a few reliable nice ones out there, but odds are against you finding one, and having the money to do it right.
