There is Alberta Wheel Repair, but they are usually quite busy (i got about 6 wheels in there right now though the shop)... If it does not need any straighting, there is a new guy in town that does mobile repairs.. "Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists".. i have his number at the shop if you can wait till monday.. he does great work i think its about 175/Rim

Have you considered getting the wheels Powdercoated? Might be a little more expensive but it would last and look better IMO...

Sand them lightly, bust out some quality duplicolor paint and go at it.

I wouldnt even use sand paper on them, just clean them really, really well, Sandpaper can scratch, use paint thinner to clean off any of the shines, waxes, armorall put on, then just do thin coats of wheel paint from duplicolor. I went from powdercoat silver to gunmetal and I had some people ask me if they were aftermarket, Crappy tire has the Duplicolor wheel paint.

JUST MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THEM EXTREMELY WELL!!!

If they have any type of chips, you must use sandpaper. I'd use something around 280 or so, enough to get those nasty nicks out but fine enough to ensure that you won't ruin them.

hahaha I may be an idiot, true, but then again, why pay a premium for them and then paint them a different color? Rice if I ever called it.

Ok, so you got these UBER rare JDM ITR's...and you want to paint them a Non-OEM colour??...

I say leave 'em white and sell them and buy wheels you want...or at the very least paint these gunmetal...I mean you could get some decent coinage for these rare items...

oh the irony...

Anyways, I have to agree here. The JDM ITR wheels are pretty rare set of wheels, 4 bolt and hard to find. Why ruin them and deal with repainting them every few months as the paint wears when you can sell them and pick up a set of knockoffs or something similar in the color you like.

Imo I would send it in for powder coating because I tried the dupli color style with the sanding and clearing on my spec v and it ended up chiping very easy. That was about 6-8 coats for the color and 3 coats with the clear.

Man, why is everyone on the JDM bandwagon!! Who cares! Fuck, just paint them if you want. Personally I'm all about the knock offs! haha  But hey, that's just me! As long as it looks good and gets the job done. Yah, white on silver doesn't look too hot but then again, I'm only picturing it in my head, have yet to see it up close and personal.

Anyway, isn't part of having a car self expression? :dunno: If so, then do what you want. Hey man, I'm still sporting altezzas for fucks sake!

The girl was looking for tires last week, and must have got a smoking deal on these wheels and tires from Shoahib at JDMsource. She drives a silver prelude, and white wheels would look like ass on it. I'd paint em too.

It was either riding on bald tires during the week long rain storm we had or get new wheels to do the job for now.

just do it yourself.

go to crappy tire, buy some CIRCA 1850 paint stripper, the kind that says works on boats. lather that stuff on, while wearing gloves and then wipe it off using a putty knife (a metal one, but be careful to not scratch the wheels) 20 minutes later and repeat on whatever areas didnt strip all the way.

then get a red 3m scuff pad from crappy tire, and rub the wheels, and finally clean it with some wax and grease remover, and you are ready for paint.

primer the wheels, use some duplicolor wheel paint, and finally clear them using the same duplicolor wheel clear coat.

i'm doing that on some old wheels i have right now, seems to be working ok. i'll post some pics up when i am done maybe.

PERSONALLY, I think if you are going to use these wheels, strip the paint off of them, and polish them or paint them silver or a gunmetal. black ITR wheels just don't seem right.

That's exactly the case man! It's not like she has been searching for JDM wheels for the longest time and found a pair and then paid an arm and a testicle to get them! She needed tires, got a smoking deal on rims WITH tires but the color just doesn't look too good!

Industrial coating is also another solution for POwdercoating and its aroudn the same price or cheaper if I remember, looks very very good aswell, can get a glossy effect so the black glossy on the silver lude would look good if you ask me.

Give Mr. Touchup a call, he does the Industrial coating, good guy aswell!!
