he drives a corolla, an AE86, which has an extensive reputation as a drift machine.

Geesh, I wasn't talking about the AE86 when I said Corolla.

If that was an AE86, I bet Jeff would be making fun of those guys for shaming the great AE86 name.

I know a guy that happened to, except not on purpose. It ended up costing him over $3,000 to fix it on a FWD.

I did that this morning in my accord. Some fukkin asshole came out too far in a res area when I had to turn left. I turned around him and spun out into the curb. No damage that I can see, but I sure as hell did scrape nasty under my side skirts!

doens't drift..only power slides First off, a drift IS a powerslide, and you can drift a front wheel drive, if you have decent car control skills (unlike that idiot).

I wouldn't call it powersliding, more like fish-tailing (is there any advantage what so ever with sliding a FWD sideways to the road/turn rather than going neutral or slight oversteer?).

I've seen this movie before. The guy went on a wet road, downhill, and way way too fast. The speed is just.. strange. Wonder if they were thinking of Initial-D when just trying that stuff in the middle of some neighborhood decline.
