RARELY in winter. :(

I need to wash my car..... so dirty! we should have a "car wash meet" in winter times. :) I prefer heated coin wash places.

Well Unless you wash and then completely dry your car every time you wash it in the winter, and/or dont park it in a heated garage with a temperature above 0C...you are doing more harm to your car by washing it all the time. The salt isn't gonna do much just on there but when its wet, it will corrode alot faster.

Well there's never just salt, there is a lot of moisture in the air, getting splashed up as well constant. I think its better to have it clean and wet, than salty and moist.

But it shouldn't really make a big difference eitherway unless you have big gaping holes in your paint...hehe

Wash the cars at least once a week, usually.

I like taking them to the Shell in Crowfoot. It's a charge per minute wash, which I'm not crazy about, but they do have Simple Green concentrate in the "presoak" cycle, which really loosens up any road grime and oil, so I can avoid using the brush.

Presoak / soap / rinse. After it's washed, I use a california water blade to quickly squeegee the water off the car.

In the winter time, I'll take some spray lube and door and trunk locks so they don't freeze. Turn up the heater to the max and drive home. Park the car and plug the interior heater in.

I don't buy the bit about washing your car in winter causing damage. Letting the water freeze on the car probably isn't a good idea. But the idea that it's going to cause rust ... it's the salt that causes the rust, and if there's salt on your car, chances are it got there with the help of water on the road, not water left from your car wash. At least the wash is reducing the concentration of salt deposits on the car.

Anyways, the humidity is usually so low when it's cold out that cars dry very quickly. Even small amounts that turn to ice drops often disappear overnight because the air is so dry.

Well,

I wash just about every other day. I dry out the doorjambs, and remove the excess water from the body. Plus, I figure ice is better that dirt and salt...no?

Maybe once a week. I don't care.
