Thats ridiculous. The woman needs a shrink and the son needs to get the legal power to get her one. She doesnt even use it, she just buys it. She needs to sell all that stuff and give the money to charity, because she obviously doesnt know how to use money. I'd buy the popular science magazines.
She needs to stop buying stuff unless she needs it to survive. The kid needs to take an active stand and make her do all this. Then he needs to move out, it doesnt matter how lazy he is.The mom needs to shape up and realize this isn't doing anything for her and it's making her son miserable.
Something obviously happened in her life that causes her feel that she needs to own things, even if she doesn't use them.
