Where can I drop off used oil for recycling in Calgary? I've got a whole load of of full 4L jugs sitting around in the garage. Are there also any regulations you have to follow ie. original oil containers must be used? Hopefully not, I've been using windshield washer fluid jugs, water containers to name a few...

fire stations, not all of them but some of them. I know for sure that the Shawnessy one does.

Search the City of Calgary site to find out exactly which ones accept used oil.

If all else fails, take them all and leave them at the front doors of Mr Lube....haha

The city dump will take them for a $5 charge.

Make it worth your while and money by taking all kinds of other shit you normally can't leave at the curb, like old paint, expired household chemicals, old electronics, etc.

The dump should NOT charge you for taking oil in, same with old paint, and similar things. Since they are things that you can drop off at fire stations free of charge, why should a landfill charge you?

I've taken hundreds and hundreds of litres of used oil to the dump, both the one on 17th ave S.E. and the spyhill one, and never been charged for it.

Airdrie has a nice oil drop off in their recycling centre if you on the north end of the city. I've never had any luck getting fire halls to take oil.
