Alright next question...my budget is about 200 bucks. Can i do this? I want to get decent speakers.... nothing AMAZING, but no crap. What sort of speakers can i get in that price range? Second... can someone help me with the wiring? What has to go to where.... it all has to come back to my computer... third... do i need an amplifier? TO power the speakers? Thanks for your help.

thats if your looking for home audio, but if its all going back to your computer why not just buy a good set of computer speakers? that way it will coem with everything and is already powered

so your computer is the source? it usually is better to line things up around that, otherwise your perception will be off and it will be kind of confusing. put the two front channels right next to your comp and the two back channels where you have them now, rotate the whole thing if you can. if you could put your comp at a 45 degree angle in the corner or move it to the center of that wall that will help with the odd placement of it.
wall mount speakers could also help, then you could bring the soundstage up to ear level and it will sound better.
as for 200 canadian bucks, uhmm its pushing it. eBay will be your friend here. either that, or try and find something used. and definitely get comp speakers, otherwise you will need to waste a bunch of money on an external amp and everything. odds are the comp speakers will come with a subwoofer too... for $200 it is not going to sound all that great, I can tell you that much.

If it were me, I'd find a decent receiver or integrated amp, and 4 smallish decent bookshelf speakers and set them up like this. You could get a soundcard with an optical out and a matching connection on the amp. It'd kill most computer speaker setups for just a little more $.

If I were to do mine all over again, I'd do it just like I have it. Get a nice receiver, a sound card with an optical out, and 4 decent bookshelf speakers. A sub can be purchased later, but your bookshelves should be OK for bass until you can afford a sub.
