This is so sweet! It's awesome with the terrain turned on and the buildings set to 3d. You can go to NYC and check out all the city. This rocks!

Damn is this program cool.
The program lets you do smooth sailing flybyes of the entire Earth. You can easily fly to any spot on the globe, by entering any associated data, like street addresses, place names or lat/long coordinates. There are overlays that put additional information on the map, like roads, international boundaries, terrain, 3D buildings, crime statistics, schools, stadiums, any number of interesting stuff.

You can do Local searches in the program, with icons on the map and a display on the side showing your results. You can leave notes, called “placemarks” all over the map, so you can remember where all sorts of places are. Searches and placemarks can be saved as bookmarks in “My Places”. Everything can be output in an XML format called KML, that will allow the vast popularity of Google Maps to continue in Earth. You can also email a JPEG of the map, or send a KMZ file if you know the recipient has Earth installed.

Google Earth Plus gives higher resolution images, GPS support, and more sophisticated annotation (like drawing on the map).

With a SHITLOAD of hard searching I found the Nurburgring. The GP circuit is prominent. You can also see the long straight and the first 1/3 of the track up to Aremburg. I found the Karoussel but it's extremely blurry.:cry:

You can't download the EXE and expect it to work. Upon installation, it connects to google to generate a new account specific to your system. Since google turned off new users, it won't generate an account and login will fail ;).

Just have to wait for google to open it up again.

FYI they updated Calgary's picture and its kind of F'd up IMO. The whole city is viewable now at a good quality but they took the damn photo in wintertime in the morning it appears. Shadows of trees and buildings end up screwing the picture up and you can't even see most things clearly.
Picture appears to be like approximately 2 years ago...this is my guess since I do see the Benzo parked on our driveway and I've looked at some of the construction in areas by my house.

There is some pretty ghetto picture stitching going on though...go to Old Banff Coach road and take a look at it and you'll see what I mean.

Turn on the Keyhole community BBS and user supplied connections, people have made note of a ton of interesting things to look at. I waste too much time on this when I'm bored haha.
