1. check on www.riv.ca to ensure that the car is importable.
2. talk to a leasing company about buying from the US

It's entire possible, and done before. You'll have to use leasing companys like peplinski and not the dealer ones.

Dont just calculate the base price. Calculate your interest rates, deals etc. Many times factory leases offer way better lease rates than 3rd party guys.

Most companies will usually not allow you to bring a leased vehicle into another country. A financed vehicle is a different story, they will allow that providing that the vehicle is properly insured of course. One thing to think about is do you have a Social security number? Do you have any credit in the States? No one will finance you if you dont.

Like the last post said, if you don't have a US Social Security number or any credit history they won't even consider it. Even if they do they'll want to know what your income is and may require a significant down payment.

I'm talking about leasing a US vehicle through a canadian leasing company. Not talking about leasing it thru the US and bringing it up here, because that won't work.

it doesn't work .... if it works, everyone will do it, and no one will buy any car in Canada.

you dont need a social security number for a loan in the us.

just open a bank account when you there, give them your canadian id and canadian social insurance number

then after a while apply for a small loan. thats all it takes.

or apply for a US tax id. dont expect to be approved for a loan at every bank, just as you would here.

think of all the 10's of millions of illegal people there, many of them have loans and morgages, do you think they even have a SSN?
