My friend needs 17x10.5 inch tires and rims for his 1987 Ford Mustang. he needs low profile rims because a normal 10.5 will touch his struts. And everybody knows that's never good. Thx guys in advance. BTW we want to buy online.

low profile i mean that they stick outwards. Not normally. Kind of widebody styling.

what you are talking about is backspace...nothing to do with profile, as that is a term for the tire sidewall.

what your frend needs to do is measure the distance from the hub face straight back to whatever is closest within the radius of the rim. this measurement is called backspace, and determines where the center of the hub is in relation to the rim.

A better idea would be to take the car in to a tire shop and they can tell you what you can fit.. maybe call western motorsport who specializes in mustangs, and they can tell you what has been done in the past...
