Pizza Pizza is a Ontario based pizza chain from what I know and when I had them in Toronto they were really good. I think its a franchise so it probably varies from location to location.

Wow so they are bringing Tim Horton's back after getting rid of them a few years back? The other coffee places in Mac Hall are going to take a beating.

Good, they deserve to take a beating after selling the gross sludge they call coffee. That Coffee Company place is undrinkable!

I'm amazed we never had decent pizza in Mac Hall. It's such a fast food staple.

Pizza Pizza is pretty good but I hope they put something in there that is actually somewhat healthy. The food there besides subway is such crap and subway isnt even that good. Its nice to know that you can have a decen meal sometimes if you are spending long days there.

We got a Pizza Pizza outlet at Mount Royal last year and it was absolutley horrible :thumbsdow . There was a petition floating around for a while to try and get rid of it and put the Pizza Hut back in.

PIZZA = LIFE :bigpimp: holla!!!

check out the following definition. If you know ANYTHING about pizza preparation you will quickly realize that pizza is NOT fast food.

fast food
n.

Inexpensive food, such as hamburgers and fried chicken, prepared and served quickly.

fast-food (fstfd) adj.

:drama:

That doesn't necessarily exclude pizza.

There is NO REASON why you can' t have decent pizza served quickly at a food court. Hell, even for hamburgers you gotta bake the bread and prepare the meat patties, so when you take all that preparation into account it's not "fast food".

imo, if it's greasy and I can buy and eat it right away, it's fast food.

Yes, but it used to all be owned by the Students' Union before, rather than multiple companies.

Anyway, I looked at one of the posters they have up, and some of the other places will be Trattoria, Big Pita, Wheat Street something-or-other, On the Go, and a couple of others I don't recall.

It looks like they will be selling Hortons stuff in several locations.

Thats brutually stupid. The way we are running it will keep quality low, and prices high...I wonder if any econ students are part of the SU?

no way man, that's exactly why they've privatized the food services. When the UofC ran the food services, we had extremely low quality and really high prices. Because there was a bunch of old ladies who worked there and sat on their ass all day. Now they've streamlined things, got rid of all the extra dead weight, and are offering more options. I imagine that prices will be lower now and quality higher.

and it's not the SU who did this, it was the university. the SU fucked everything up in the first place (just think of primo, hot stuff pizza, etc.).

^^^ Yeah, it's incredible that primo, hot stuff and love me tenders were dead even during the major lunch rush. That's gotta indicate something's wrong.

I got a chicken burger from Love Me Tenders once, and it had cooked lettuce on it after sitting under a hot lamp for the longest time cause the lazyfucks just premade them. And once I got moldy bread.

So wait, all these places are owned by one company, or not?

What is Chartwells? Because dealing it all to one corporation seems even worse to me then the SU doing it all.

Finally, some half-way decent coffee. I can't stand any of that crap on campus. The only coffee there that doesn't make me want to throw up is the coffee stand between science theatres and social science. Timmy's isn't great, but they're a LOT better than the selection there now!!

So Timmy's is returning to the U? Where? Will it return to its former location at the Soup Link?

^^ I got the impression that the main Tim's location will be in Mac Hall, but they'll deliver baked goods to some of the other places.

Yeah. Ploughboy pressure-brewed coffee is okay too but about $2. And the Starbucks in the bookstore, although I don't think they use filtered water like they're supposed to.

Doesn't the SU run the "Stor" or is it still there? Been a while since I've walked into MacHall. A buddy's family used to own the convenience store in MacHall back in the day. They were pushed out because they were not allowed to renew their lease. :thumbsdow

I totally remember that. Bastards. And the guy even provided a scholarship for students.

Yeah, Stor is still there. I remember they were having a naming contest for it when it first opened. The name that won was something like "Nasty Kitty's Snack Emporium", but some bitch complained, so they named it Stor.

I'm still cheesed about that. But most people, myself included, at the U were too apathetic to do anything about the SU's poorly applied socialism and frequent mismanagement.
