1966 Porsche 912.

Stock except I upgraded from points to an electronic ignition. I started fixing this car for my wife a couple of years ago and stopped when we had our last baby. It’s almost finished – just needs a few more things done to it.

I like the car, but she doesn't appear to be that interested either. Can you believe she prefers her caravan to it! She even went so far as to actually snub it and said "I want a boxster". (I said don't hold your breath...)

Anyways, The inlaws are pissed at me and want it out of their driveway. The paint is fresh, and even engine bay is done nicely. It's got fuchs and I had to upgrade the headlights to the new Bosch Halogens (not cheap) as well.

It doesn’t need much to complete. It needs a dash cap kit as the dash is peeling, a wiper arm (splines are stripped), and a deco kit (if you feel like it for that nice fresh chrome look) and a decent interior shampoo. It was safetied last year by a licensed mechanic.

I’m into it for over 8K at this point. I'd obviously like to get out at close to that if I can. So I guess let's start at 8000.00 obo. However, ALL reasonable offers will be given thoughtful consideration...

yeah .. sort of "cheaper" version 911, with 4 cyclinder engine ..
basically, pu tthe 356 engine into the 911. :D

good thing is .. lower cost to run .. but a bit under power .. :D

It's sort of like the sr5 is like to the corolla gts however most of the parts are the same as the 911 other than the engine. I have found a lot more cleaner 912s then I have 911's. I also like the low maintenane costs involved with the 912 vs the 911. It's not hard to drop in the 911 engine though so it makes for a great project car. I wish I had my 944 sold today I would pick this up in a second.

Dude, if your wife defines what's in your garage you need to stick up for yourself! It's way too nice of a car to lose because she doesn't like it. Good luck with the sale, it's a sweet car.

are there any aftermarket parts for this thing? Like upgraded suspension, brakes, etc... starting to interest me. I like the swap idea.

The guys at Pelican Parts are excellent - they will bend over backwards and the prices are reasonable. I dealt with them for a few items on this car...

Tons of stuff and all 911 parts will bolt up. You really learn about porsches and their heritage with a car like this. There is a killer orange one in Calgary ....vintage recaros, lowered with fuchs. I love it and I want this car too haha. Ripping through the mountains wearing a burbury flatcap...nice I want to be Steve Mcqueen
