Did a search didn't find any topics on this.
Every once-in-a-while I check out this Internet Speedometer thing to check out how fast the internet connection actually is.
Usually at home I get around 600kbps with Shaw Regular Cable.
I wonder if I broke it, but I tried it at Haksane Buisness Building using the wireless and got a sick transfer rate, I think I broke it or something haha.

Tried it again and got, seems a little more reasonable value.

Give it a try

Test data size is far too small to give reliable results.

You need to use IE for it to work.
But yeah, the test file is waaay too small for a broadband connection test. Totally not accurate. Try the CNet Bandwidth Meter (http://reviews.cnet.com/Bandwidth_meter/7004-7254_7-0.html) instead. I got 5024.6kbps, which is around what my Internet connection is supposed to be. (I can download up to 900kb/s)

Try doing it a couple more times. Be sure to clear your cache as well.

I used to use Quest@Home, but it only changes settings on your computer. Not of any use once Windows XP came out.
Made a big difference back when I ran win95 back in the day... Right when wave came out.
I still have the old white motorola modem :)
I got 8.something mbps on the CNN test, and 2.something on the top one.
I usually see 700+kps (give or take) download speeds. Can't complain at all about my service :)
