I was just wondering what bad might come out of a rusting gas tank. Does it usually mean that the entire fuel system should be replaced because of rust contamination?? Any help would be great thanks!

Well is it the tank or lines? Most tanks should be made of plastic or some sort of stainless metal or alloy. A rusted out line can cause the contamination. That could also mean a leak is not too far around the corner.

You may encounter problems with your fuel filter plugging or fuel pump failure. If you are going to replace your tank, I would clean out the fuel lines and replace your fuel filter.

BTW: When I installed my Walbro 195lph pump in my talon the inside of the gas tank looked brand new inside and that is a 1992 car.
