well, he wants us to do a paper on evaluating a regualatory scheme or change in scheme (recent). He is looking for things like changed that would effect blockage in entry, or access and price. I guess he want us to find a change in regualtion, but where would I find this. I tried the NEB webpage and it has so much junk. He went on in class how he wants an "interesting topic" so I was like what the hell is interesting? I think what I need is where I should look for a topic that would be interesting and not too hard to find sources for

I think the softwood lumber issue sounds like a perfect example with tons of supporting info and is recent.

That sounds like a good one. Hmm. I think I will give that one a try. I guess I will just email the prof with the idea and see if he likes it. Thanks guys!! Hopefully this paper won't be too hard. It is worth like 40 or 45 percent of my mark. By the way, for the record, is there any 400 level courses that aren't too hard that you would recommend me taking ( I need 2 more econ course next year to grad)

I took 401 (Public Finance) with....damn, what's his name??? McKenzie! That's it, good guy, not a bad course. This was a few years ago though.

yeah, i heard that is a good course. I heard tracey is pretty good at that course too, but his finals are so f-ing hard. I shouldn't of taken the regulatiory econ. it is like 301 all over again.

Try Econ 483 - History of Economic Thought.

Easy course, good prof (Gaisford), and there isn't too much work (a few discussion papers, 1 pg long).

Sounds like a plan. The less work, the better

Is anyone else in econ 477 finding it difficult to find a good topic for the stupid paper?
