We were in 225, not terrible seats actually, we walked all over during the warm up bands, actually found seats in 109, but decided butts of famous people were not as cool as well, normal viewing of famous people I guess?

Anywho, very awesome concert! Little disappointed in the lameness of the dome though, have never been to a concert there before, and uhm - no free water (wtf?!) - no free earplugs (WTF?!) - TERRIBLE acoustics (OMFGBBQ?!?!!)

So.. but yea.. uhm, SOAD rox0rs thine box0rz!

:D

best fuckin concert EVAR!!!!!!!111oneone

Hella and Mars Volta were such a waste of time, I should have came late so I wouldn't have to put up with that shit. SOAD played flawlessly and sounded amazing! One of the best concerts I have ever witnessed, and I have been to A LOT.

If you require earplugs, then you shouldn't even be at a concert like System of a Down. Stick to the Bryan Adams and Robert Plant.

For your information, I don't REQUIRE earplugs, at all, but some people might, and its irresponsible of the venue to not provide such.

I'm 23, not a woodstock geezer ;) But I've been to way over 50 concerts in my life time and 80% of them in europe, acoustics were looked after, earplugs provided to people who wished them, and free cups of water everywhere, ESPECIALLY in the mosh pit where its NEEDED. :)

Other than the blatant disregard for the audience by the venue, System of a down did very very well, good on them for making it such an awesome evening! :D

That concert was AMAZING!!! Wow... Mars volta was terrible, i never liked their stuff, and I missed the first band.

Except for those shit talking 16 year olds by "their" limo after the show, jerk offs.

SOAD ROCKED! That first group that was on from 730-930 ATE ASS!!! FUCK that was garbage!

But once the main group made an appearance, that place was ROCKIN!!!!!

It was so comical watching from the box all the people in the mosh pit just getting thrown all over the place. And all the crowd surfers getting brought to the front, hahahaha, ah man.

Never was a SOAD fan, found a lot of their music extremely angry, and never associated w/ it, however their concerts absolutly rule.

Cheers!

It has been an awesome year for concerts, Green Day and the Foo Fighters were amazing but Soad kicked ass tonight!! Its gonna be 2 days before my voice comes back and probably longer for my feet to recover from getting stomped on but it was definitley worth it.

I didn't think Mars Volta was all that bad but the band that played just before them (hellia?) were really really bad, but they had an extremely talented drumer which was alright to watch...

I saw them a couple years back in Toronto. Awesome show.
I was completely drained afterward. The energy they give off was amazing.

My top 5 concerts starting with the best were:

Pink Floyd
Sound Garden
STP
NIN
Skinny Puppy <---way back

Hella was total shit

The Mars Volta was pretty good (they did the best they could under the circumstances. a 'dome full of meathead SOAD fans is not really the ideal way to see a Mars Volta show)

Didn't bother staying for System as I hate them with every ounce of hate in my body... and I have a lot of hate.

i think it was meant to be a joke buddy... ya know, haha funny.

but whatever.

my review of the show was i though hella was the hella worst band i had ever seen. seriously they made my ears hurt, and im not kidding, that shit was baaaaad.

and i also thought that mars volta's 7 band members beating on misc instruments for over an hour was the 2nd worse band i've ever seen live.

I completly agree! Hella sucked asshole is sounded like a band that was put together yesterday was up there. I didn't know if they knew what song they were playing as each member sounded like they were playing a different band.

Mars Volta sucked ass but the only good thing about that was the lead singers dancing. I wish I could get my groove on like that :P

Okay. So the bands you liked (Hella & Mars Volta) were horrible according to the consensus and the band you hate with all your hate (SOAD) was incredible according to the consensus. According to the consensus you have poor taste in music.

The opening bands are part of the show. I reviewed the parts I stayed for. Its not a difficult concept to understand.

EDIT: I like System's music, their drummer is a fucking animal. It is Serj's voice that kills it for me.

09-20-2005, 02:38 PM
and I like System of a Down because of the singer... hmmm. Too bad nobody here likes Mars Volta, half of their shit is way too far out there, but the other half is amazing. And they don't have 7 band members, but at a live show they probably needed 7 since half of their stuff is the guitarist doing studio tricks with his 800 pedals.

l8braker
09-20-2005, 02:40 PM
mv were amazing. totally unreal, almost a new age pink floyd) half the people there have horrid tastes (except system)

Mr. Burns
09-20-2005, 02:42 PM
Yeah, they really only have 5 core members. I am all over The Mars Volta., one of the best new bands out there. I did find that their jams go on a little too long though, they could shorten their jams and fit a couple more songs into the set list... 4 doesn't really cut it. I guess wee will just have to wait for them to headline a show.

Raz
09-20-2005, 10:57 PM
Mars Volta was interesting, it wasn't terrible, and the lead singer had a fun James Brown thing going for her.

But I came there for ROCK AND ROLL, I didn't mind MV, but System is totally what I was there for! :D

They totally made up for how bad a day I was having :)

My ears rang all last night and all morning, they are good now thoe ;) I've been at a few other concerts that were louder :D NiN in Berlin made me puke, the bass was THAT powerful! ;)

and I went deaf on my left year for three days, well not deaf, but an overpowering ringing wouldn't really let anything else through (rofl) after a Silverchair concert in Malmo

Oh man, it was really nice to go to a concert again, missed it so much. - Next time, FLOOR. Rock and roll without being in the mosh pit is wrong :)
