Spotted brand new 2006 ecplise!!

hey everyone sorry but i have no pictures but yesterday when i was leaving mckenzie town i saw brand new red 2006 ecplise!!!

very nice car i actually liked it alot!

the car was goin in the opposite way i was going and i didn't have time to grab my cellphone :(

well, I hear you, but for their price, they must be FWD ... right? can't put AWD or RWD in low price cars .. :)

Yeah I took this car for a test drive like 3 days ago from hyatt. It handle nice and pulls good. FWD drive car . 260hp and 263 tq.
Comes with a full Rockford fosgate stereo with 10"sub.

The car has more Audi TT in it than anything else. The Accord or Camry coupes have more mercury cougar in them. I saw them when I was in the US last month and in person you won't mistake it for anything else as they look very nice especially in black.

Yeah no worries, I wasn't trying to be accurate by any means. Just came across those side-profile pics and by looking at those alone, it they could be brothers :) The car actually looks clean in person, and not like a cougar. :) Not that there's anything wrong with that to all the cougar owners out there.

I have noticed that the car in the commercial, look like it was lowered to give it a "sportier" ( if that's even a word) look on the tv. I drive by the Mitsu dealership every day and the car really looks like a 4x4, what is up with that? I know that you can't belive everything you see on tv but, tricking people in thinking that the car is better looking then it is. IMo that is false advertising. :D

specs... all I can remember is that the first tests on pre-release cars found that it was faster then a 350Z, but every subsequent test seems to show it as getting slower and slower. Edmund's latest test pegs it as being about the same as the older turbocharged AWD models (mid-6 second 0-60), while other tests say it does the 0-60 sprint in 5.5 or 5.8 seconds (which is almost a full second faster then the old AWDs).

LOS ANGELES — Mitsubishi has halted sales of its redesigned 2006 Eclipse, a sport coupe the ailing Japanese automaker was counting on to jump-start the brand because of a problem with the vacuum brake booster, which could result in brake failure.

The company issued an "urgent notice" to dealers to stop sales and informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the problem on Tuesday, according to Automotive News.

Mitsubishi said up to 1,185 vehicles could be affected. Of those, 44 have been sold to consumers and 400 are at dealerships. The rest are in transit. Mitsubishi said the problem was so serious it will send technicians to buyers' homes to check their vehicles. It said the problem at the plant in Normal, Illinois, should be fixed by the end of the week.

Mitsubishi began shipping the Eclipse to dealers last Thursday, 10 days ahead of schedule. Earlier this week, the company said it was increasing production at the Normal plant from 760 cars per week to 1,000 to meet high demand from U.S. dealers.

What this means to you: This is depressing news for fans of the sporty Eclipse, but Mitsubishi has caught it early and is correcting it swiftly. That should be some reassurance. But the company really needs a flawless launch from here on out.

I heard the way weighs a heck of alot... 3307 lbs.
That seems a little on the heavy side to me. But after doing some reasearch it is the heaviest car out of its main competitors (RSX, Mustang, Tiburon and GTI) The RSX weighs the least at 500 or so lbs less.
I know it doesnt seem like THAT big of deal... but with that kind of styling you would think they could trim the weight down with less "ass" on the car, and not so many "bubbles"

Finally saw one of these in person last night while stopped at a light. Looks better in person than in the ads actually, but the older generations still look WAY better. But even up close and personal, visually it's only good for its lines and it doesn't make up for its HUGE wide ass that I thought it had when I approached it - it's no wonder this damn thing is so heavy.

Not much difference IMO. It looks fine the way it is. Remember guys Mitsubishi makes anti-Honda cars. They make cars with style and power to back it up. Not bland & slow.

Interior looks like a chick car.

Most review said it's a fine cruiser a la Accord Coupe except the tranny sux. Not a performer such as RSX/WRX.

If this is what Mitsu is putting their revival hopes on, they are screwed.
