Beyond Battlefield 2 (use my TS server & Xfire to stay in touch)

My pc plays the game well, but I'm not very good and could use a few tips.

Also Xfire can keep us all in touch. It's pretty cool, it's like a special msn for gamers, it lets others know when your playing specific games when logged in.

Here's your first pointer, screw special ops sniper etc... only ones worth being in the beginning are engineer and support, I just became lance corporal and unlocked a good gun for the medic, l85a1 I think, might be called something else in the game. So now I'm a medic getting good points. When you unlock better guns then it's time to be other things.

Also how xfire works is when someone is say playing battle field 2, you just right click their name and pick "join game" and instantly ur in their server. SWEET!

Makes it easy for all of us to hook up into the same server.

I just picked up the game yesterday and it is so sweet! I'll have to jump online with some fellow beyonders tonight with X-Fire.

I haven't actually gone online yet so I'm not sure what my usernamw will be. I guess it will be something along the lines of RC-Cola or RC-Cola45.

k added u guys. Looks like the right click to join the guys server is not working i think it only if ur patched, but I am not using the patch right now as it was recalled by ea.

So you have to click the guys name when hes playing bf2, hit the big blue arrow on the side it shows the server name the player is in and various other good info's, then find the server name in the list using the search in the battlefield server list in game. Make sure ur filters are not filtering the server.

Ya I kinda did the same thing. BF2 is nice can u can pick it up get xp, then put it down no biggie.

what kind of system are u guys running with.. I want to play BF2 but Im worried that my sys is not good enuf. My PC is almost a year and a half old and its runnign on p4 2.4Ghz, 9600 Pro, 512 Dual HT DDR.. would i be able to run BF2 smoothly.. BF: Vietnam didnt run that well on my sys before

Go get another 512 mem and u should be ok. I run an oc'd 3gig, 1500 mem, geforce 5600 and it runs fine.

I found this website that give the breakdown of how many points you need and quailifications you need for promotions, medals and badges.

It doesn't state when you get the gun unlocks, but my understanding is that you get it at 1,000 points or Lance Corporal. I'm at 920 points so I should reach it tonight, I'll let you know. Ihave to say that 11,000 points is a LLLLLOOOOONNNNNGGGG time to wait to the next gun upgrade, I guess you have to pick carefully. Does anyone have the spec ops gun yet?

When you look at the stats after each game under the trophy cup will be a score. It thought this number would be added to your global score at the end of each map. My global score has not moved in the last 2 days.

What gives??

I bought this last Wed and my global score is only 125??

Last night me, rc-cola, jdigital ripped it up using teamspeak too. It was a lot of fun. Using teamspeak to coordinate with friends just gets u wayyyy more points due to verbal coordination.

The server all 3 of were playing on last night, j got the shaft and was assigned to the opposing team, but RC and I took first and 2nd place with large scores.

rickdatuner joined us in TS too. He was kinda hard to hear, like there was a fan near him or something. I was not sure what he was saying all the time :)

Well all the ranked servers are always full?? What do I need for TS I guess I have to go and buy a mike?? That is why I have not dl xfire yet as without the mike it would be useless??

That was much better lastnight.. Considering I was playing lone wolf, I racked up a decent number of points...

The best way to find a ranked server (or any server) is to use the search filters. Just click on what you want in a server and then click on update filters.

I have definately found it MUCH easier to score points working in a team, the game is designed to not be played as a lone wolf game. If you like playing like that, play Counter Strike.

I bought the game a week ago Monday and I'm over 1300 points so far without more than 1 to 2 hours of playing in a night. When playing as a squad where you help each other it pretty easy to score 80-100 points per round.

I also upgraded to Lt. Colonal last night and upgraded my Medic Gun. It's pretty sweet, it fires about the same as the normal medic gun, when you right click you get almost a sniper scope coming up that is VERY accurate.

Understanding the Ranks
Battlefield 2's ranking system allows you to gain rank as you accumulate points by playing on ranked servers. All points (teamwork, combat, and command) are included in the rank calculation, so feel free to play whatever class you like.

There are twelve known ranks:

1. Private -- 0 Points (Starting rank)
2. Private First Class -- 500 Points
3. Lance Corporal -- 1000 Points
4. Corporal -- 10,500 Points
5. Sergeant -- 25,000 Points
6. Staff Sergeant -- 50,000 Points
7. Gunnery Sergeant -- 75,000 Points
8. Master Sergeant and 9. First Sergeant -- 150,000 Points*
10. Master Gunnery Sergeant and 11. Sergeant Major -- 250,000 Points*
12. Sergeant Major of the Corps -- 250,000 Points

anon = anonymous...

Its not a server to play on.. Its a Teamspeak so, We as a group can comunicate together to coordinate plans/strategies. You still have to use the Ranked servers that are found in BF2 itself.
