Hello,
What is everyone doing for Canada Day? If everyone's not too busy, we should get together...and maybe party at rage2's house haha j/k :D
But really, what is there to do? Most of my friends are going to the Rave and I don't really like them...maybe clubbing or drive out of town or something...dunno.

Sylvan lake is a bit far for me for a relaxing day. I'd rather stay in town here to hit up a BBQ.
As for a place I think Bowness Park would be fine. Just need someone to get there earlier to steal a spot for BBQing. I'll check out the place tonight and see which spot is most convenient for people to get to and park and I'll update tonight. If the place and time is set, it's just a matter of bringing the alcohol and the food.

Otherwise I'll never hear the end of it.
I've been going to Banff for Canada Day the past 2 years and its pretty boring. The fireworks only last 2 seconds and its all calgary people down there anyways, plus only 2 good clubs.
Isn't there something at Eau Claire every year? Don't people go there to watch fireworks? We could meet there or something.

I went to see the fireworks last year on the hill above the curling club (cresent heights I think). It blew the fat one. We couldn't see shit. It ended up being a big waste of time. But we made up for it after by going to the viscous circle for martinis and nachos.

The best spot is on scotsman hill (sp?) or on 25th Ave. Lots of cars just park right on 25th ave, and lots of people just fill up cemetery hill right by the humptys. Normally the grandstand is open for people to watch the fireworks too but this year its closed so they can prepare for the Calgary Stampede.

I went up there last year too to see the stampede fireworks one night with a whole bunch of people. It gets way too packed up there.

I second that idea. The Fish Creek picnic area is massive and could prolly hold a good 20-30 people. There's lots of parking space too.

how bout's we get a list started for those who are thinking about attending this BBQ thing at Fish Creek. That way we can get the ball rolling and start planning out how much food, drinks, etc to bring too.

fireworks at stampede park, lastyear some nut steaked like 15 feet infront of us, kinda shocking and he didnt even wear a canada flag
