This is a head restraint rating...

http://www.crashtest.org/vehicle_ratings/head_restraints/head_vw.htm

I don't get it. How does a 2003 2-door Golf rate better than a 2003 GTI? It's the same car!!!

(P.S. The 2-door Golf is no longer available in Canada...)

Doesn't the GTI have different seats?

Isn't that turbo injected? Or something like that?

I always thought they had the same interiors as well. I know the 1.8 jetta has the same interior as the GTI when it was first introduced back in 2001 and the wolfsburg editon. :dunno:

Well,

The Jetta 1.8T came out in 2000, but you're right about the 2001 Wolfsburg Edition having pretty much the same interior as the GTI. Coming soon to a VW Dealer near you! 2003 Jetta WE!

(And 20th Anniv. GTI)...

Hmm.. If there is a 2003 WE coming out for the jetta and its a 1.8 seems like its time I start financing one..

Insurance for that will probably be less than a GTI...

was the gti they tested a vr6? i figure the extra weight in the front could have made a difference. and of course, there's the usual statistical junk etc..
the gti would also have difference seats.

Very likely. It's going to be a nice car. :)

Apparently, they're sticking with the 16" BBS that they had on the 2001 WE...I was kind of hoping for 18"s...

I suppose that's possible, but the seats aren't that different...I'm pretty sure that they're even the same frame with more bolstering. I dunno.:)
