did a search, didnt come up with anything, sorry if this has been covered before. anyways, post up the movie(s) you think are the best of all time, or just absolute classic must sees. My choice for best of all time(that ive seen) is The Shawshank Redemption, i've seen it probably 10 times, never get tired of it. what are your opinions?

Another vote for Shawshank. Honorable mention for Platoon.
As a side-note, this week I watched the two worst movies I've had the pain to watch : Torque (worst..movie..ever), and to a lesser degree Stepford Wives.

I'll throw in the 'classic must sees' that appeal to the girls...they would have to be Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman. Grease is also in there for sure.
I agree with Troy, Gladiator and Garden state, also Braveheart, that's a classic too. :)

Donny: What?
Walter: Were you listening to The Dude's story?
Donny: No, I was bowling.
Walter: So you have no point of reference, Donny. You're like a child that wanders INTO THE MIDDLE OF A MOVIE!
Dude: What's your point, Walter?!
Donny: Yeah, Walter, what's your point?

it was still a good movie! it got okay reviews (55% on rotten tomatoes), and it was one of the top 10 grossing movies in the year it came out, but for some reason it all the sudden became super-cool to bash it and dismiss it as a huge flop, even though it ended up breaking even in the worldwide box office. I personally think its a great movie.

You need to know and understand the history of Hunter S. Thompson and the time period in which the movie was taking place in. You also need to know the background to the REAL life trip they made to Vegas back then. The movie is based on real events. :)
