I am getting ever closer to getting my first car (used of course) (and by the way im almost 20...not some 16yo)

However I cant decide on the type of car I want. I do have some thoughts... heres a list

Volkswagen GTI (2000+)
Audi A4 Quattro Sedan (1997-1998)
BMW 3 Series 1994+
Volkswagen Passat (1998+)

and the obvious...

Honda Civic Si (1998-2000)

Those are just some ideas... I am really leaning towards a GTI but im not sure. I am for sure getting a 5spd and planning to not spend more then $13k. I am looking at imports.
I will be going to school, not this year, but next year, so I need a good reliable car. I would like repairs to be somewhat reasonable and gas mileage to be decent.
Any ideas or other cars to consider would be appreciated. Advice, anything....

Thanx

I wouldnt buy a VW, but thats me. Repairs and parts are hella expensive, plus I don't think they are the best in reliability. BMW should be good but whatever you do, get it INSPECTED! (that goes for any car). Honda is very reliable and parts are alot cheaper than VW.

BMW 3 series hands down. My dad had one until a winter accident one year..

I either hear really good things about VW...or really bad things. I was also looking into a Jetta. Found a 2000 Jetta GLS with 89k kms for just under $12k... I still have another month or so to look and figure it out.
Im guessing Audi would be the same as Volkswagen?
