so i know its the ultimate :bigpimp: of SUV's but how do these things hold their value and how reliable are the engines? are they ase bulletproof as those old land rovers are made out to be??? anywyas, ive run into with a family member with a 1995 Range rover 4.0 V8 SE leather, sunroof, full load.....with 170K kms and mint .....how much is this truck worth.....i crave something i can put some big chrome rims on :D.....

bah just looked on canada trader and 97-98s are going for 15-17K with 140K....looks liek they depriciate like mad!:thumbsdow

They don't hold their value at all. On top of that, i've heard the reliability isn't so great either (based on Consumer Reports mag I saw at Chapters).

Reliability is shits on that generation of Range Rover 4.0/4.6's.

They don't hold value either..i've seen 95's 9g's..who knows what the condition was like that but..yeah..

but hey, if you can get it at a good deal and for the most part nothing is wrong, it might be a fun toy

Repairs are also insane. A friend of mine needed a new tranny and it ran him over $5000 (luckily he and his wife are both doctors).

My Uncle has a 2000 Discovery II. Big POS (IMO)

Sux to be a rear passanger on trips longer than 15 minutes, gets about 7-10 mpg. Something breaks on it every year like clockwork. And the biggest kicker my uncle paid 55k for it fully loaded and after 3 years and 50,000km it was worth just over 25k.

Now that ford really has their claws into it, I cant see it getting any better.
