clutch replaced and new OEM Mitsubishi throwout bearing installed – winter 2004
front axles replaced in 2004
PBR/Axxis MetalMaster brake pads all around & all rotors turned - fall 2004
Redline MTL synthetic transmission fluid
Redline synthetic 75W90 gear oil in the transfer case and rear differential
changed oil (10W30 Mobil 1 synthetic) & filter (NAPA Gold/Wix) 2,000kms ago
fuel filter/thermostat/tie rods changed and intercooler cleaned when originally purchased
always fueled with at least 91 octane

*When I say all related timing components replaced, I mean OEM Mitsubishi timing and balance shaft belts, timing belt idler pulley, timing belt tensioner pulley, balance belt tensioner, timing belt tensioner, new OEM Mitsubishi water pump from Conicelli Mitsubishi in the states (not a rebuilt), crankshaft pulley, crankshaft seal, camshaft seals, valve cover gasket and coolant changed. Over $1,000 was spent on parts alone. That’s why I say you do not need to worry about anything related to the front case for at least another 50-60,000kms.

The Eagle Talon, when equipped with full-time all wheel drive, has control and stability offered only by a select few high-end manufacturers such as Audi, Mercedes, Porche, Subaru and Volkswagen. This allows the driver to fully enjoy the benefits of the Talons’ 2.0 litre power plant, pumping out 195 horsepower and 203 foot-pounds of torque in stock trim. With a fully independent, multi-link, double wishbone suspension, the Talon is as ready for a canyon-carving dart through the mountains, as it is for that last minute accident-avoiding maneuver on Deerfoot Trail. As you enter the cockpit and adjust the six way seat to your every curve, you realize this car is meant to be piloted, not driven.

I have served as Green Goblin’s (aka the car) daily driver for two years now. In that time, I have fully maintained the beast, as required and then some, starting with the full timing belt procedure (please see first paragraph). As well, I did add basic performance upgrades, such as a K&N air filter, 2.5” turbo-back exhaust, rewired fuel pump, suspension components, etc. The car has been returned to stock form, with the exception of the items listed under the “FEATURES” section. Yes, she has seen the track twice. In the few passes made, she and I managed a best time of 14.2 at 92.99mph. This was with a slipping clutch, which has since been replaced. As mentioned, Green Goblin has always been treated to synthetic fluids, premium oil filters and 91 octane fuel or higher while I’ve been in her possession.

Being twelve years old, the car shows average wear for its age. There are the odd dents, scratches, some faded paint on the mirrors and two small rust spots on each front fender. But the rear bumper is near mint, which is probably the most important view you’ll be concerned with! ; ) Other than these small battle scars, the car still looks great and drives like clockwork.

As you might be able to tell by the information provided, I take above average care of my vehicles and try to learn as much about them as possible. I’m selling my baby to move on to bigger and better things (a 92 Talon, aka project “Back in Black”, thus my screen name DSMer4Life!) You will not be disappointed with this well maintained Talon. There is nothing to do but get in and drive!

I can be reached by pm, or email at [email protected] Thanks.

This is sort of a "freak dsm". I remeber it pulled a 14.2 in the 90 mph range pretty much bone stock. It is a very strong car and well maintianed. Worth every penny of the asking price.

$6,200 OBO

Winter tires are now on the car, on the stock rims and will be included in the sale. They are Canadian Tire Nordic Ice Trac brand with a couple seasons on them, but have plenty of tread left.

All Wheel Drive + Winter Tires = GONE!

question sorry to hijack,

but how do you change a flat tire??

because it says on the lsd warning not to rotate a wheel when the car is jacked up.
