My basic Logitech QuickCam has the motion detector as a software addition. so this one looks like the next model up. The software might have that option.

I think you can download the motion software from logitech's website because it gave me the option of using it with my clicksmart 310 (ie bottom of the totem pole as far as webcams go) when i downloaded the software a few days ago.
