Sup guys, there's this song that has an excellent sample/beat but its sung by Destiny's Child, and i can't stand those bitches whining all the time. I've searched everywhere with many programs and i cannot find a "Instrumental" version. I'm not too familiar with music, but is there anyway i can cut out the vocals and keep the beat?

hmm, not that I'm aware of, but if software did exist, you may run into problems of it cutting out the wrong stuff, and you would have to use a high quality version (ie. 320bit)

There are such filters around...there's one built into Winamp and also one built into the Creative drivers.

The only problem is that they suck and don't work properly. They rarely filter out the voice completely and they mess up the music too.

You're better off looking for an instrumental version.

your best bet would be to look for a karoke version of the song.

It should be quite easy to find the instrumental version of the song you're looking for, especially for Hip-Hop. I know Emule is a good way to find these.

I've tried using various programs to remove the vocals on a song but they always turn out weird and you would hear echoy voices in the background.

Yah, most singles that are ripped, have Dirty Version, Radio/Clean, Instrumental and Acapella

Where's the one that is built into winamp GTS? It's a DSP plugin that comes with the program...

Sure.

1. Open WA
2. Ctrl+P
3. DSP/Effect
4. Nullsoft Signal Processing Studio DSP
5. Configure active plug-in
6. Load
7. justin - stupid stereo voice removal.sps
8. Enable processing

It sucks though.

The best way to remove vocals (which is still a crap way) is if you can find an accapella version of the song, you can kinda reverse the wave and then you layer the vocals over the top of the original track, doing this then cancels out the vocals on the original track, you can do this using soundforge, I've kinda done it before ages ago, but its kinda hard and doesn't come out perfect, but its 1000 times better than those shitty filters that cancel out alot of the other music frequencies that are close to vocal frequencies.

I was trying to do this for one of the first LotR trailers - the best was some kareoke program I found - but even that sounded like ass. The way they all work is they basically take the stereo sound and phases it until it becomes a mono one. You can still hear the voices they are just muffled and at lower volume.

I don't think you'll be happy with the results unless you like 8kb mp3s.
