How bad of quality would a cheap eBay subwoofer be?

800 Watt Subwoofer for $25. Seems too good to be true.

Would it sound horrible? Would it break after an hour? Or is is some type of crazy scam?

if you are just getting into it then why not give it a try, not like you are loosing much if its not good. It won't be as clear as the high end stuff u can buy but it will still do the work for a beginner

If you want a Pyle sub, go to London Drugs, because thats where you can purchase one. It says 800 Watts, but thats peak, cheap brands are like sony, they over-rate everything. That sub will cost you $80 or so around London Drugs, and if you ask how much watts RMS it puts out, they'll say around 125. :thumbsdow

XS cargo is fantastic for cheap subs... i'm definitely not saying good ones.. but cheap.

I bought 2 10"s jensen subs from there, in a box for $80. The box itself is actually very good.. and worth easily $80 by it self. the subs aren't so great, but I don't turn them up loud, and they just supply a bit more bass than my other speakers.. not bad at all.

When I first bought some car audio it was a pyramid amp. I bought it for 80 bucks and its not bad at all. RMS sucks like nobodys business but it still brings one of my subs to life. Thats about the only thing I would buy from Pyramid dude :thumbsup:

If you were to buy a sub for cheap. I rather look for something brand name but used. Thats what i did for my Civic. Bought two RF's for like less then $200 including box and they pound like a bitch.
