I think its more of a compatibility issue with the xbox's then a fitment, even with a modded box.

any standard 3.5" computer hdd will "fit" in to an xbox, its the compatability you need to be concerned with.

any IDE hard drive will work in an Xbox. What do you mean by 'compatible'? Some can be locked, some can't is that what you mean? Locking is only important if you want to use your modded box on xbox-live.
