trying to figure out what to get, Im having troubles deciding on what I want. I mean I want power gains with a nice deep sound, im thinking Yoshimura but I want to know what else is out there.

Yoshi pipes are really really loud. Hindle offers a really nice idle tone, as well a nice deep sound throughout the revs . Both are similar, but i've found the yoshi is alot louder and still fairly deep, as compared to hindle.

For max power gains, i believe piping is in order. Are you thinkin just a muffler, or going full system?

I rode an RC51 with twin yoshi pipes, loudest thing i've ever been on, even at idle it was too loud  not sure exactly what the owner had done piping wise.

Personally i like hindles sound over yoshi. Its a nice deeper sound, not quite as loud, and offers good power gains with a full system. Are you planning on any other mods? or just exhaust?

I think just exhaust, the fucken thing is already crazy enough!!

You went and bought an R6? Well whatcha know, so did I ('03)! Right on buddy.

Don't expect much for power gains with just a slip-on and expect to pay over a $1K for a full system (and you must have thought DSM exhausts are expensive).

Personally, I wouldn't bother. The bike's a beast to begin with and my ears hurt from a romp on Deerfoot with the stock system (I always wear earplugs for long highway trips. You'll go deaf if you don't).

Have fun and ride safe.

can't do just exhaust. If you don't put a power commander or a techillusion on you will actually lose hp.

If its just the sound your going for, your probably OK, but if its power, you have to go all out or nothing.

Most people don't believe this but its true. A buddy of mine has a 00 GSXR 600. Stock he ran 11.8 in the 1/4 mile. He put a bolt on Hindle and now runs 11.9. Need the computer reconfigured to accept the new flow and backpressure.

Check this out......

I believe that they did all these tests on an R6 as well....if you can find that issue of the mag, it is a good read.

Either a full akrapovic or a micron serp system will give you the best hp gains.

when you get it on make sure to go and get it tuned, thunder cycle will do it for about 150.00. its well worth the money to do it

There was an article in some magazine a little while ago about all the different brands of exhaust. They actually tested them on a new R6 so it might be of interest to you.

I'll see if I still have it kicking around.

if you have carbs they can tune it...... FI, you need a piggyback fuel system controller

Damn forgot about that, your gonna need a PC111 or something along that line to get it tuned. I know that Yamaha has something that can tune it, but I dont know if it stays in the bike or if it just reprograms the CPU

Hindle has to be one of the loudest pipes right after D&D...

you want power? Akra evo full system and a PC3R. at least $1500. save your money and learn to ride it first. most people can't even use the power they have and they want to add more...
