"November of 2000 Car and Driver
0-60=4.9
1/4 mile = 13.3

turbo and intercooled beast of a celica
the tranny is out of the GT4 raly car"

"This is a show car done by rod millen if I remember right. It was on the major auto show (nias) circuit when the new celica made its debut. I saw the car in chicago and have my own pictures of it, I was blown away when I first saw it. IMO it is a very nice car, although I recall an article about the drive train which is from the celica all track and they stated the the transmission is a major weak point and the car has to be babyed or it will let go."

"Costs roughly 500,000"

That's all the info I could dig up on this Celica. And it's supposed to be around 500+hp.

How is that supposed to be the ultimate Celica? Seems like the ultimate FUCK UP to me...13.3 for a 500hp car is hurt

ewwwwwwww, that front end is sooooooooooooo over done, it doesnt suit the car, i dont think it would suit any car its sooo fugly! everything else is cool though, and 500,000 for this car? man i would invest that money into either modding out my car or else invest in a high end italian/euro car

That concept vehicle is now two years old, and the inspiration for the front end is coming from F1 (you'll note they beat ferrari to that styling by 2 years). So now you can tell everyone that the Enzo looks like a toyota :D

If you just take a look at it I personally think the vielside Celica in calgary is about 10 million times nicer... And 13.3 in the 1/4 is crap, maybe those dumbass's shoudnt put a alltrac tranny in there if thats the best they can run !
What a waste of a car/money

as if you guys wouldnt rock that shit... pulled fenders fucking one of a kind aerodynamics... sure price and performance arn't impressive but that one damn hell of a sweet car... it might not be the most impressive waste of $500,000 but when it comes down to it i bet i would catch any one of you rolling down 17th ave in that any day of the week.... i as of the rest of you could think of many ways to spend that 500g's but just cause mr.millen spent waaaaaaaaaaaay too much money building that thing doesnt make that car a piece...

my two cents

I would rather spend 200k and buy a 996TT and HAVE people KNOW what it is, than driving that and having people saying look at that bastardized creation of a celica and not know how much I spent on it...

If I was walking down 17th and saw that car parked, I wouldn't put an initial appearance price of that at any more than 50 grand.

I dont car how unique it is...for 500 grand I would expect alot more.

This one definatly takes the cake for the all show no go syndrome.

hmm for that priceI could get someone to custome made bodykit to look just like that and plenty of money left to mod the celica a hack of a hell faster than 13.3 1/4 mile.. plus enuff money left to buy 10 more celicas a house and a wife oO

i never said i would spend 500k on THAT car... i actually said it was quite a waste of money and anyone of us could have found 100 better ways to spend that money... JUST BECAUSE A LOT OF MONEY WAS WASTED DOESNT MEAN ITS A SHITTY CAR!! thats what i meant... i would drive it and i would enjoy driving i would just find a better way to enjoy driving $500k...

lol. You can get a WRC car for that kind of money. Why not get a Focus WRC, some tint to hide the roll bars, stock rims and then paint it in some normal dull colour?

And then rip off the gay turbo/air flow restrictors.
But yeah, i sawed this a while ago, Its an interesting approach, butyeah, that front is horrible, and what the hell is with the hoodlines? (blargharhg) But i think Toyota messed up getting that power to the ground, or its Cd is like, 900, cause 13.3 is horribly slow for the cars claimed power figures and engine performance.

It's not really a celica anyways, its got my engine in it (3sgte)

three.eighteen.
01-30-2003, 12:15 AM
well thats the power plant from all the previous celica gt-4s, so it kinda belongs, but its a big step backwards in representing the power that can be found in the new high revving engines (can be boosted lightly on internals) but i suppose they wanted the 4wd for gusto so it was easier to glue an old celica underneath the new shell

Yes, to even more so make sure that no one knows what it is one is driving. People would kind of notice it if you had a Evo, 206 WRC; Skoda, Citroën or Subaru STi. I'm talking about the USA/Canadian perspective of course.
