I was just thinking about the original Doom storyline although I'm not too familiar with it...

Event Horizon scared the crap out of me when it first came out and I was still like 12 or something :eek:

Come to think of it that does sound more like the storyline. And I think that makes a lot more sense than, "We've discovered the last 10% of the human genome, oh and there's a whole bunch of unspeakable horrors that showed up when we did it."

Maybe I have my genetics all mixed up, but how would discovering the final 10% cause all that stuff to happen? Perhaps some scientist is sitting in his lab peering into a test tube...

Scientist: "Yes I've discovered the last of the human genome!!"

(knock at door)

S: "Who is it?"

(from other side of door): "Abominations unto God."

S: "Abominations unto God? That's strange, I wasn't expecting any visitors..."

(door is smashed in)
