These will be put in order of my personal ranking:

1) THE CD of 2005! The must have!

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0007YXQ4G.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

Sasha - Fundacion

1. Badger – Rise Of The Machine
2. Adam Johnson – Four Squares
3. Swayzak – Another Way (Richard Davies Mix)
4. Beanfield – Tides feat. Bajka (C’s Movement #1) (Carl Craig Remix)
5. Kosmas Epsilon – Innocent Thoughts (Stel Remix)
6. Funk D’Void – All That Matters
7. Closer Musik – One, Two, Three (Ewan Pearson Remix)
8. Phonique – 99 & A Half featuring Alexander East (I:Cube Remix)
9. Holden & Thompson – Come To Me (Last Version)
10. Holden & Thompson – Come To Me (Club Mix)
11. M.A.N.D.Y. – Jah
12. Playgroup – Behind The Wheel (DJ-Kicks Electroca$h Mix)
13. Freeform Five – Electromagnetic (Tiefschwarz Dub)
14. Closer Musik – One, Two, Three (Ewan Pearson Remix)
15. Andre Kraml – Safari - (James Holden Remix)
16. Freaky Chakra – Blacklight Fantasy
17. Goldfrapp – Strict Machine (We Are Glitter Mix)
18. M83 – Don't Save Us From The Flames (Superpitcher Remix)

This is the CD of 2005! Any trance lover would pop a load over this CD. A follow up to his hit CD Involver, this is a step up. Flawless mixxing and perfect track selection will have you pounding this CD. I would suggest this CD for the following times: Homework, Chilling, or anything that requires your full attention as the tracks average 6 minutes. Cover art and a unique booklet on the inside give you an inside that no other artist offers with their CD release. Buy this CD.

2) Consider buying/downloading

Lighter for Tiesto. Perfect follow up to Nyana! Much better then his previous three releases. I would suggest this CD to any general trance fan. I can compare this CD to beer. The beer would be a Heineken, a smooth full body with a little bit of bite, serve chilled, and has a 'european' look, but is still not the best.

3) Consider buying/downloading

Armin Van Buuren - A State of Trance 2005
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0007PIE0G.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Disc: 1
1. I Found You/ Interstate
2. Wasting/ Hidden Logic presents Luminary
3. First Time/ Markus Schulz
4. I Know You're Gone/ Max Graham feat. Jessica Jacobs
5. Space Guitar/ Mike Foyle presents Statica
6. In the End/ Ave Mea
7. Ocean Rain/ Elevation
8. Aerospace (Probspot mix)/ Locust
9. Shivers/ Armin van Buuren
10. Beyond Horizon/ EnMass
11. Falling Anywhere (Rework)/ Kyau vs Albert
12. Inertia (Armin van Buuren Remix)/ Fragile feat. Alex Lemon
13. Call of Tomorrow (John O=B9Callaghan Remix)/ Sophie Sugar

Disc: 2
1. Simply Blue/ Peter Martin presents Anthanasia
2. 808/ Nu Frequency
3. Halcyon/ Andy Moor
4. Why (Derek Howell Mix)/Ahmet Ertenu
5. Papel (Preach Remix)/ O.Lieb vs. Preach
6. Crackdown/ Remy
7. Arcadia/ Gabriel & Dresden
8. Twelve (Max Graham remix)/ Tilt
9. The Deep Show/ Matthew Dekay vs. Proluctors
10. Emotional Void/ Recluse
11. Ballerina/ Adam White feat. Martin Grech
12. Perfect Silence (E-Craig 212 Vocal Mix)/ Blank & Jones
13. Made of Sun (KvA hard dub - AVB edit)/ Kyau vs Albert

A follow up to a 'State of Trance 2004' Armin spins well, like Armin. A typical track selection with good mixing. My biggest problem with this is that it's like every other Armin CD. Armin won't step out of his comfort circle like other DJ's. If your a fan of Armin, grad this CD otherwise consider downloading it first. This CD would be perfect for those new to EDM.

(You'll want to download the Euro version for two tracks that have been cut out of the USD release)

Armin in concert @ Whiskey > ASOT 2005

4) Download
Ferry Corsten - Kingdom of the Netherlands
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0009ML2Q0.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Disc: 1
1. Cassino & Laben "Leaving Panic Behind" (Flash Brothers Remix)
2. Matthew Adams pres. Stratosphere "Sunscape" (Alucard Remix)
3. Tonepusher's "Daydreamer" (Bill Hamel Remix)
4. Yilmaz Altanhan "Eighties" (Özgür Can Remix)
5. Sublunar "Sanctuary" (Antidote's Tech Mix)
6. Varian "Endless Desire" (Mark Otten Energetic Remix)
7. Solid Globe "Lost Cities"
8. Ferry Corsten "Galaxia"
9. BT "Force Of Gravity" (Ferry Corsten Bootleg Remix)

Disc: 2
1. Airbiscuit "Lately" (Riley & Durrant Mix)
2. Ronski Speed "2Day"
3. Dogzilla "Without You"
4. Purple Haze "Adrenaline"
5. Ferry Corsten "Sublime" (Thrillseekers Remix)
6. System F "Underwater"
7. FB feat. Edun "Who’s Knockin'?" (Ferry Corsten Remix)
8. Misja Helsloot "Blue Monkey" (Pierre Hiver Remix)
9. JPL "A Place Called Home" (Passiva Remix)

I am really un-satisfied with this CD. Just by looking at the CD cover I knew something was up. It appears asthough Ferry is trying to 'grow up' and out of his pure energy mixing style. I found the track selection boring with minimal peaks. Mid-life crisis? Maybe. To make matters a worse, the CD's are short with only 9 tracks! You can't really get into the beat with only 9 tracks! Save your money on this CD and get Ferry Corsten - Mixed Live @ Spundae.

HMV usualy carries new releases like that. I got ASOT 2005 and ISOS 4 from there on release days....

EDIT: Amazon also has it starting at 16.53 http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007YXQ4G/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_f/702-7050768-9523233

Time to start the debate.....

Sasha - Fundacion sucks IMO.... Its not a trancer, its a pop this in and go to sleep at night cd. Granted the mixing is perfect (most likely because of Ableton live).

My album choice would be the new Daft Punk cd... No, its not trance. But it has some killer tracks, however its not mixed. :thumbsdow

Yeah its still going. I don't think it will end any time soon which is a good thing. They relase a new TTF compilation usually every 3 to 4 months.

Tiesto is my favorite. And yesterday my mom came back from Europe and brought me back "Tiesto: in Search of Sunrise 4" Pretty good CD. Definitly not his best, but still amazing.
Add one to the collection :D

[i]Deep dish was a good find that I'd never heard of! [/B]

Yeah, i first head them on Oakenfolds set when he was at the wiskey, they are great... no wonder they won a grammy.

As for other CD's, Gabriel & Dresden - Bloom, is one that a lot of epople stand by, mainly because its such a great cd. You can get it off of amazon.ca for 18 or 19 bucks, and its totaly worth it for a double disk set.

Another Cd that I highly recomend is Marcus Schulz - Miami '05. again, its another cd you will probably have to buy of off amazon, but it is a great cd with some good mixing and a lot of the stuff I heard on there I havnt heard on other compilations.

anyways, I enjoyed ISOS 4, good cd. I especially like Luminary - my world (andy moor remix).

A state of trance 2005 wasn't as good as 2004 imo. I still listen to 04 every few weeks, while i havent listened to 05 as often.

I liked creamfields, good cd. Haven't heard the sasha - fundacion etc. yet.

In my opinion of all the CD's this year theres one that really stands out for me. It is the perfect mix of trance/house and has some great beats I have not heard before...

Its Club Affairs Vol. 1

Hey guys, never thought I would post in a thread like this. I'm stuck in a hotel suite for 3 months and I started listening to Digitally imported a few days ago. I started with vocal trance but then switched to just trance. Could anyone care to explain the differences between the genres?

It's really nice sitting on the laptop listening to this stuff, this is no interruption like rock music and all of the vocals seem to blend in the with beat rather than lead the song.

Thanks
