lol...

highest i hit was 146.6 wiht jbl 1200.1 and a beyond audio inhuman....in a 1.5 cube sealed box.

have since sold the amp, and pending sale on the sub...

building a new SQ set-up...I got tired of all the head-aches and puking, if I hit 1 decent note with that old system I would have a headache for half an hour.

your gonna have to give some proof with that one. i think your full of shit considering a stereo close to 100k didnt even break 180db.

"The 2002 record, set by a German team of secretive audio engineers, was 177.6 dB"

It is hard to believe you dont understand the humor in his statement....

He is obviously exadurating about how loud and annoying his wifes complaining is.

I think 180.4 is the world record. Running 80000 watts into some special pioneer subs..dont quote me on that though.

You need to be married for awhile to know that a jet plane could fly over your car (120), with a helicopter(100) , and you wouldn't hear it if your wife was yelling in the car at the time:nut:
So I guess SHE hit the chart, not me:angel:

It all really depends on which metering system you use.

As far as I'm concerned the only reliable meter is the Termlab sensor. It is a little black box with 2 suction cups that sticks to the window.

Mics are not as accurate, nor are they consistent. You can do one run and then hit a dB higher your next run on a mic, and the two lanes are usually never the same. Also they change by frequency.

As far as a comparison, I once hit a 147 on the sensor system, and the next day I hit a 161 on a mic system.

As far as legal dB Drag racing scores, the legal record on the new sensor is a 177.9 dB by Team Loud from Finland. The previous 2002 team of audio engineers who hit a 177.7 (backed up by a 177.6) was called Team BS and that is the last year of the old mics. That would be equivalent of only a 168ish on the new sensor system. The Pioneer truck owned by Scott Owens does a 177.0. He is the second loudest vehicle in the world, and the 180.4 was an outlaw style run in Usaci (where the mic is not on the dash board).

As far as our SPL levels, I own the loudest Super Street vehicle in Canada with a 158.0 dB's. My teammates own the loudest vehicle in Canada in Extreme 2 with a 171.2 dB's.

On the new sensor system, I would consider anything over a 140.0 dB to be quite loud for daily driving, and can damage your hearing pretty quickly. 150 dB's gets very uncomfortable to sit in the vehicle, even for only a few seconds.

99% of the time it is louder with a window or a door open.

This is not legal for competition, but it does work.
