Focus on the positive sign in the middle. The Purple dots will dissapear. Takes about 15-20 secs.

This is a wonderful mental puzzle.

I use this before I do a test or project or gaming or whatever... helps you focus.

When you love something (say CARS), you're attention is focused soley on you're "dream" car.

Girlfriends. Wives. Children. Life's problems.

Disappear

Focus on the + and boom.

What purple balls?

Nice. It's always fun to debug your body.

An explanation (http://www.michaelbach.de/ot/col_rapidAfterimage/)

What it's basically saying is that this is yet another demonstration of the afterimage effect, and the moving blank spot is enough to get your eyes to notice a moving green afterimage spot rather than a moving blankness among magenta spots.

That's pretty neat, although I was expecting the image to change after about five seconds to a zombie or something, accompanied by a terrifying scream to freak you out since those seem to be all the rage on the net

Yeah we saw something like this in high school in Bio 30. It has something to do with your rods and cones in your eyes "getting tired" (best phrase I could think of) and so you can't see certain colours.

Thats crazy, nice find.
I also learned something about this in Bio30, hopefully I'll learn more as I go into my 2nd year of biological studies :D
