Sorry but I got no pix. I saw it driving eastbound crossing 4 St on 17 Ave. It had an R33 front but not sure if it was cuz I thought they won't be legal for awhile!! It had red decals (Signal style decal) and SilentRage accross the windshield.

Anyone see this or can confirm that it is an R33 or an R32 with R33 front end??

BTW nice car dude if your on here!!

Chris

PS: post pix of the car if anyone has em!! And sorry if repost....

I'm almost positive it was an R32 with R33 front.

Yes it has to be an R32 with an R33 front, taken it was an R33 front. R33's are illegal in canada because of that gay 15 year rule. I belive if you do a search there would be a couple of threads on this car in the spotted section

If it's illegal, how is it on the road? Registration, Insurance...how does that work? VIN swap?

There's one company that can bring in any year skyline .. legal in north america... But it's very expensive... i think i saw a 97 R33 for $51k USD..

Yup those pix is the car but I swear it has an r33 front now. That's the only reason why I took a double take!!

vin swapping, lieing about the year, etc. its possible but not great if you get in an accident and insurance companies investigate

are you talking about motorex?

That's no R33 front! It's just got the GT-R emblem placed in the centre of the grille! And yes, the "roll cage" looks really ghey.

calgarys13

the grill is an r33 style grill, maybe he got another gay front end!
poor gtr:(

i admit the rollcage seems a little impractical but still a nice car, nonetheless:thumbsup:

Yeah that car is ILLEGAL. I remember seeing it at the show at the olympic oval last year way before GTRs were legal for import. We tried to talk to the owner.

Did you tell him that to his face? keep the discussion about the car not the owner. Maybe your the fool?

How can it not be legal? Think about how popular the car would is and its entering into shows. I really think show organisers or just normal people would call him in. Are you guys sure this guy isnt trying to act "cool" by saying his R32-R33 front end swap makes it an R33. This car has been around for a while I dont see how its can be an R33

You know how normally if you see someone and you like their car, they are more than willing to talk to you about it and chat with you a bit about the car? he was totally unapproachable and acted like "his shit don't stink". He wouldn't accomodate us at all and acted like his car was King Midas' shit. So maybe hes not a tool or fool, you can come up with a word describing that kind of attitude.

I hear what your saying, and there's always going to be people like that. I wouldnt doubt that his car attracts alot of attention from people, and sometimes you just get sick of it...i've been there.

But I just dont think it's appropriate to make personal attacks on someone when they cant defend themselves, its also a public forum and I'm sure he doesnt want to be known as the "fool" in the "silentrage skyline".

I hear what your saying and i'm sorry i lashed out at him like that. i just found it hard to talk but this car without mentioning the owner when my opinions of the car were tainted by my experience with him :)

I thought you could import any car for off-road (re:auto shows, drag racing, etc.) so thats probably why no organizers would have valid reason to call him in. As for driving it on the street, maybe hes full of shit, maybe hes just too hardcore for the system and doesnt care about the laws. :dunno:

I would have to agree with any statements saying this Skyline driver is a fool/tool/whatever you feel like saying.

Driving down mcleoud (sp) yesterday evening i was passed by him doing at least 150ish while he was weaving in and out of cars. His dorky buddy in the old ass camry trying to keep up was even a bigger tool.

Then next time say something to him, instead of running home to your computer to talk shit

if he's doing 150, i don't think it would be wise to catch up to him just to say "slow down" ;)
