Yeah I've seen it, it's alright in my opinion. They kinda changed the story so that basically the first, second, and third stage are crammed into a 2 hour movie. Other than the messed up story, the race scenes are pretty good. I wasn't dissapointed by that.

And as far as the DVD goes, I think only the mandarin version with chinese sub titles is out.

Torrentspy current has the Mandarin version with crappy Engrish sub. If you don't mind suspension being call "quakeproof", go ahead and d/l it.

It's full DVD quality BTW. You can also find the same version in Chinatown.

Thumbs up on racing scenes. Thumbs down on minor character/plot change. Thumbs WAY, WAY down for acting. Music (which has always been the other half making Initial D exciting) is ok at best.

the action was pretty nicely done but the storyline/characters were kinda weak imo...

i got a copy with mandarin or cantonese w/ chinese subtitles!

even tho u can occasoinally hear the audience in the theater laugh bahha

yeah the acting was BRUTAL especially by jay...i understand takumi is always out of it and stuff but jay just amde it look like takumi is always uber hungover, sure bunta is, but not takumi...

agreed. the whole story line was changed from the anime version. i love that van that transported the lancers to the race scene haha

just stick to the anime because this movie will bring your hopes down with crapy acting and nothing to actualy do with the anime except the cars

Jay can't act, neither is the guy who plays bunta....Jay should just stick to singing and bunta actor should act in a cop/ganster movie only. As for the cars, if they can make a highlight reel of it then that would be great.

I'll give my 2 cents...it sucked.
Acting is horrid, Jay should just stick to singing. Very disspointed...the race scenes...SUUUCKED . If u wanna watch amateur drifters at their worst....watch the movie...waste of 2 hours...i never even had high hopes, actually the only hope i had was it would have half decent race scences...but that didn't even happen.

and if this doesn't make much sense....i'm drunk, and in korea...Boo ya! hahha
