Since the beta version for the windows vista is out, have anybdy installed and tried? any review or feedback??

while we are on the topic of window, figure this might be of an interest (the origins of ctrl-alt-del)

Review and screenshots here:

I'm currently downloading a copy just to look at its eye-candy. Its virtual folders feature is supposed to be useful as well but we'll see about that.

Actually they released a 32-bit and 64-bit of Beta 1. I'm not quite sure why since Microsoft stated that it will only be in 64-bit. Perhaps they had a change of plans? o_O

I know winbeta.org is leaking it through their IRC channel. I'm sure there's a BT link as well.

It actually isn't bad...nothing horrific i've noticed so far, virtual folders kick ass. I think i'm going to install it on this pc (main pc) overwriting windows xp.

Virtual Folders (http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winvista_virtualfolders.asp)

I couldn't get the transparent windows working, even though I installed the Geforce FX 5900 like people recommended (I'm using a Geforce 6600 GT). But then again I'm using the 64-bit version of Vista and NVidia released a driver for the 32-bit version so I'm gonna get 32-bit Vista and see if it works.

But hey, at least I could still somewhat enjoy the mockup theme using WindowBlinds:

Download the skin for WindowBlinds here (http://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SkinID=5212&LibID=1).

Mail-away? If you're talking about legit copies you have to be a subscribed MSDN member (http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/).

Just installed the 32-bit version of Vista. Updated NVidia drivers lets Geforce 6 series users make the transparent window borders work, as well as the kinky window transitions when minimizing/restoring. xD

Good for you. Now go toss Steve Jobs' salad some more, since you seem to worship his creation so much.

I mean, for fuck's sake, Vista has nothing to do with Tiger. Get a grip.

Now that we've got the requisite rich-men's gentials discussion out of the way...

Why in the hell do you think OSX is so much better? I've put some light usage into it, and while it's quite a flashy OS, I really don't see the huge advantages over Windows that you do.

And besides, with Apple switching to the Intel platform, have fun with your Trusted Computing system! Where only the approved hardware works with the appreved software with the approved files! Thought you had compatibility problems before? Hah! You ain't seen nothing yet!
