It's so weaksauce it's ketchup.

It's like a really good 6-episode OVA or a 13-ep series crammed into a two hour movie and smeared liberally with suck. You could actually see the movie making interesting points or raising thoughtful questions and then discarding them like snot-filled kleenex. And if you've seen any of the commercials, you've seen literally half of the flight sequences.

Stay away.

I saw the actual plane used in the movie, last week in LA.

Good work Jamie Foxx - Collateral and and Ray in 2004, Poop and poopier in 2005....

Haven't watched the movie, but the concept is fucking stupid. Does this plane not need to stop for fuel? Does it not need to reload?

Actually, they covered that a bit - it carries a large multipurpose weapons loadout (one wonders where it fits the "scramjet-pulsejet hybrid" engines, or the fuel tanks); and it does stop for refueling at one point.

The refueler itself is goofy. Think less Stratotanker, and more Sky Captain.

Yeah Ebert thought it was a POS flick.

This, my friends, is a grandly stupid movie. Yet it's not even the magical talking airplane concept that sinks it. Goodness knows there have been reasonably good movies made on that subject in the past; why, "Knight Rider" ran for four seasons and no one minded that it featured David Hasselhoff being bossed around by a gay automobile.

It wasn't a great movie to me either, but it was ok at least. Maybe it was just a matter of attitude that's affecting your judement. I mean, I walked into theatre being fully aware that it was NOT meant to be the kind of deep thinking/intensely dramatic movie that one is supposed to take seriously. I just sat back and let it run its course without thinking why this, what about, or whatever and it was all right. Macross Plus is way better, indeed, but that film was meant to be presented that way. Stealth was meant to be one of those show-off action types that you just sit and chill out with. :dunno: My .02 cents.

Oh, I was totally going in expecting cheese. Hell, I enjoyed The Core. Stealth was lame cheese though. The Core : gouda :: Stealth : Kraft Singles

Another thing - for a movie called "Stealth", they sure didn't play up the "unfindable" aspect of any of the aircraft. But that's picking nits.

They should have just called the movie "Boom"

This, my friends of the board, is what is called a "popcorn movie," meaning that you check your brain at the door, sit down with your massively expensive (and sometimes tasty) bag of popcorn, let the pretty lights do things on the screen as you go ooooh and ahhhh and then go home. It's a perfect Friday night movie when you just don't want to think anymore, because the movie doesn't ask you to think. It just presents a good action movie, with good action, some comedy, and a whole load of popcorn moments. :bigpimp:
