Junk disposal, sort of

My parents are trying to get rid of some furniture, but they heard there are places in Calgary that will take your old furniture away for free, they'll fix it up and sell it themselves.. anyone know what these companies are called?

call the salvation army, they'll probably take it.

I dont think the salvation army will pick stuff up, you need to either drop it off at one of their locations or at one of those salvation army bins in parking lots.

I would recommend freecycle.org. Usually if someone needs/wants the stuff, they will come get it. From what I have seen, responses and pick ups are quite quick as well.
