i got a speeding ticket for doing 93 in a 70....it was on deerfoot right beside mckenzie....i know its my fault for speeding but i was wondring if istood an chance of getting off with only paying the fine and no demerits....or if it would just be easier to pay the fine

I'm not familiar with Canadian law, but here in the states I had to hire a lawyer to represent me. The fine went from {6 months in jail, $2500, loss of license} to {$150 fine, 3 points}.

Go get your speedo checked at Mr. Speedometer... that will be about $50 then go talk to the prosecutor and he'll let you off with a ticket for a faulty speedo $103. Almost all speedos will be slightly off.

i was going 96 in an 80, asked prosecutor to change it to photoradar and he did, no questions asked. the fine was $87, gay.
