Good quality headphones allow you to hear much more acute sound in that game. You can hear people coming for miles around, providing you the ability to ambush someone that doesn't think you can hear them yet. Someone with speakers would miss that sound unless they have them cranked to max volume.

there are a ton of episodes that are in this purepwnage series, and the first couple they're walking around downtown toronto and actually say they're in toronto. but that neighborhood does look familiar...
