View Full Version : where do you guys put your targas?

heh i was wondering where everybody puts their t roofs and targas, ive always put mine in the back seat but i was wondering where other owned (especially mr2 owners) put their troofs. what if there is no back seat or its full, do you Trunk it? sorry guys, its just 2:20 in the morning lol.

i beleive mr2's have some room behind the seats for the t-roofs

My Pulsar has a place for them under the carpeting in the hatch :thumbsup:

Yeah the roofs on my 88 MR2 fit nicely behind the seats:thumbsup:

what exactly is a targa roof?.. i didnt feel like making a thread about it and found this one would probably be applicable to ask

Think T-Tops, but without the Center brace.

Basically the entire roof comes off but the rest of the car remains the same, including the rear glass and rear pillars. Cars like the MKIV Supra, Older 911s, RX-7 Vert .... etc had the "Targa" style.

i always store mine for my mr2 behind the drivers and passenger seats. That's the designated storage area for them unless you have the removable sunroof. Then it would go into the trunk. If I didn't have any room, behind the seats, then I either moved shit to the trunk or the roofs didn't come off. One of those t-roofs are NOT cheap to replace.

The '89 MR2 came with two fabric-lined black vinyl bags to stow the T-tops and keep your interior perfectly clean. IIRC, there are straps or some kind of system behind the seats to keep them fastened down.

there's always a place for the tops in every car..
mine's in the trunk.. i think every car is..
unless its an mr2.. then u can put it behind the seats or in the small rear trunk

Sunroofs suck too, some times i make the people in the back seat of my car hold it if i have a sub or other shit in the trunk, other wise if i am jsut going driving i leave it at home

yeah my 87 had the same vinyl bags to protect them behind the seats. except mine were blue. matched the car.
