Does anyone know where to get an invoice price for a new car, without having to pay for it? The U.S. has a zillion sites that give this out for free, but the Canadian sites I've found are all charging for it.

Does anyone know where to get this info from. More specifically, I'm looking for the invoice price of a 2005 or 2006 Subaru WRX Sedan. No options.

As far as I know there aren't any sites that do it for free.

If you are going to spend $30,000+ on a car, just pay the $25 for the report...

There is no way to verify that those reports are correct. Even the pay site rely on someone on the "inside" to leak the information to the site. i.e. sales guy gets the invoice price list from his manager and copies it and sends it in.

Wrong, there are ways to get the invoice price of all vehicles (not including the high end euro's Lambos and such), you just need to work in the business to get what you need.

Like I said in my original post, all the American car sites (Eg. Edmunds.com) give it out for free. I don't see what would be so different about Canada. Maybe it's as simple as there being no pioneering website that drops its fees, therefore forcing everyone else to drop theirs.:dunno:

Americans gets cost recover by ads. Canadian doesn't have enough traffic for that.

With import brands, I think the standard MSRP carries a mark up of 8-10%. And most of these sites don't show the back end dealer rebates anyway. So when you bargain, just knock 15% off MSRP on the first offer and bargain from there.

I have search like 5 or 6 vehicle on carcostcanada and 10% theory always applied for cars under $40K.
