I don't like the look tha tmuch, but it's basically a Benz for the whole family. Two thing I really hate: The rear of the vechile where they should have sloped it down to it foloowed the rear passenger windows. It would hav elooked way better.
And the Headlight don't look that great.

PS. They should have had the oversized rims like the concept!

We got 4 of them at Hyatt yesterday, the Black R500 with chrome window trim looks gangsta, and the interior is awesome, looks very good from the rear but the front is strange.

We also got a B200, and the same is true, looks good from the rear and side, but front is strange.

Now thats an ugly exterior. The interior, in true benz style, looks amazing. Dunno what else there is to this vehicle. I think having a family is a requirement to own this car.

That's fugly! Maybe even fuglier than it's sister...

That front end is hideous. I like the looks of the Pacifica better. It really pains me to say that, but it's true.

mercedes' biggest mistake was getting in the sack with chrysler.

that thing is U-G-L-Y

Not for me.

IMO, it would be great for a good size family with no concerns on the looks, but want a Mercedes product designed to do the job of an American minivan -- obviously without the American "design" bullshit.

IE: the "American" size cup holders. Nothing like pounding back 64oz of sugar!

wtf is Mercedes doing building cars like this? It should be making more McLaren models instead of this...shit.

Yeah it's ugly, but you people act like MB is the first automaker to make a shitty looking car to tap in to a new market. Get over it.

Oh and BokChoy you know obviously know nothing about the situation between MB and Chrysler because it has HELPED both automakers.

:dunno: Have you seen the new M-class in person? It looks pretty good, I drive one pretty much everyday, it's a hundred times better than the old ML.

R Class and B Class, ugly, but holy shit you should see the interior space in the R class, and the quality of the interior is really something. However, I still wouldn't buy either.

So .. does it share anything with Pacifica? or other Benz? or other car??

If the R shares with anything, it would be Pacifica, but I'm not sure it does. The R class is Loooooong.

What do you mean the B-Class is ugly??

This car is hot

I'd take this over any other sporty hatchback (i.e protge 5 n the rest that look like it)

Man, that R500 is a dog. A dog that should be brought out back and shot.

I like the looks of the B-Class seems a great competitor to allot of the Hot Hatches we have, an AMG version would be awesome.

ZorroAMG, I see the obvious side of what the merger has done for Chrysler ( ), but I don't quite see what advantage it has had for Mercedes, could you kindly clarify?

I spent a week in a Pacifica. And from the pics, you can easily tell R is based on that platform which is a unique platform. The are parts borrowed from the E-class, including dash guages and rear suspension but that's where the similarity ends.

R looks like a reskinned version of Pacifica. The row layout/dimension is exactly the same. Rear seat design is a bit different but both folds completely flat.

I think MB just want to offset the cost of this platform by introducing more models out of it.

Too be honest, I was quite impressive with the Pacifica. The only weakness is the 3.5L engine which lacks pep pulling this heavy people mover. And the 3rd row seats are only good for kids. Anyone over 5'6" will have trouble in long trips.

I have recently accused of having bad taste, but I actually don't mind the look of the R500. Maybe I would have to see one in person to make the final judgement, but for now, I will give it the benefit of the doubt :)

It's good looking from side and rear, as is true of the R class.

That picture is kind of a misrepresentation, see it in person and you'll realize the car is a little too tall and too long. Also, the area between the side view mirror and the front hood of the car is quite strange. Black only intensifies this. The car seems too look better in Silver than it does in black.

The B class looks like a real "mini" van.
