Just saw this on Discovery. 0 - 100 in 4 seconds and it's electric.

Thought I would share!

oh dont get me wrong it's fuckin hideous....but 0-100 without fuel........that is awesome. and at $1.00 a litre or more it sounds even more appealing.

Jesus thats horrible, but thats damn impressive 0-100 in 4 secs, I can't see that car being light, its pretty big, must have a REALLY powerful motor, which I also can't see lasts long.

same, i dont think it would last long without a battery the size of a trailer behind it

IIRC Electric motors don't have a torque curve, it's a straight line, so they're bound to be quicker off the line than a combustion engine, ft/lb for ft/lb.

i've heard the same, but that car is god-awful, why won't environmentalists make a GOOD looking and performing electric/hybrid/alternate fuel car???
dodge made the 300hp charger concept a few years ago, it ran on natural gas and looked quite nice IMO.

Good grief!

There's got to be a good reason to have 8 wheels. The last performance car (that I know of) that tried anything like that was the Tyrrell P34 (http://www.tgpf1.com/car03.htm), and that was nut-ugly too.

It's probably for something like lowering rolling resistance while maintaining a large contact patch, or something equally unfeasible.

I should point out that pure electric cars are in no way a magic bullet towards solving fuel or pollution problems - they merely dump the load onto the power plant supplying your recharging station.

well, we all know that Americans are all about blaming everyone except themselves, so a car that shifts the onus of pollution control to the power plants instead of themselves is a perfect fit for their marketplace.

I know that's exactly how I'd design a car if I was some retard hippie :P

Don't worry you guys, this is just the beginning stages. As the oil gets closer and closer to running out the electric cars will be made more desirable and probably will be the new age of transportation.
