try doing a system reset...remove battery and unplug the system, then hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds. then plug the computer back in n put in the battery. should power up.

Yup this should work for ya...
If it doesnt you are probably looking at a hardware failure...
Windows hibernate/standy isn't very nice to laptops.

To break more bad news to ya, there is no medion authorized repair or parts distributor in Calgary...
Not sure where these little guys go when they break other than back to the manufacturer as I have never had to repair one...

try just goin to a general computer repair shop (especially if its out of warranty), sure they charge a lil more, but they are much more convenient.

my laptop has similar prob too but the thing is...
when i put it hibernate it does fine but if i shutdown and turn it on it doesnt even boot
its a toshiba that sait lends out and i think i got the lemon of the bunch and i dont think they know jack shit what to do cuz when i take it to them they just jam in a windows xp disc and reload it onto it
i still run into the problem when i shutdown and right now i dont even use my laptop until classes resume this fall and bring it to them once again
anybody with any help?

No, sounds like a power/hardware issue not a software issue dude.
Doing a restore will not help you out seeing as the machine wont even boot...

saiyajin:
Take your laptop to the Crandell Building Help Desk.
If they give you a hard time or wont diagnose it ask to speak to Rob. He is the head of the IT/Laptop sector there and will probably be a bit more willing to help you properly.
