I was just wondering what you guys think is better.
I have roughly $10,500 to spend on a car and have a
controversy

Would it be better to buy a $7500 93 del sol possibly lower and
use the difference of money to do a good engine swap such as
a B18C or an B16A

or

Buy a R32 Skyline GTS-t Type M ..

for me this is a tough decision

id buy the del sol and put in the engine. I love Hondas and the Del Sol is newer (less problems). Plus the Del Sol isnt right hand drive, and has a targa (so sweet for hot days).
And with the new and improved engine on a "light" smaller car, you will be rippin. :D

get the del sol. Finding replacement parts for a skyline doesn't sound like the most fun past time activity.

I'm biased so go with the Sol + swap!

not with a b16a in it. That car would own anyskyline. even if the skyline is RWD >_<. Then again, my vote goes to the Skyline

not too sure. haven't been a huge fan with hondas except for the eg6.

skyline all the way
esp the type M, even a B16 probly doesnt make much more than like 125 ft/lbs of trq, and only 160 hp, an RB20 is around 220 hp, and im guessing not tooo far from 200 ft/lbs of trq
and rwd is a lot more fun than fwd IMO...

Its not as bad as u'd think, lots of skylines here, they r being destoryed on a daily basis, bound to show up in a junk yard or as a parts car, I know of 1.

Go with the skyline so much more to do with it then a delsol:)

skyline is definitley a faster more fun car, but it will cost more for maintenance, gas, and probably insurance, and also the del sol will be a tad easier to drive in the winter. if you have the money, go for the skyline, if not then delsol.

I owned a 95 delsol VTEC (w/B16A) and it was a nice little car. Quick but not fast but a pretty solid car and the removable top is nice. Since the delsol shares most of its parts with Civics & Integras lots of parts available.

The Skyline just doesn't make sense as a daily driver in this part of the world. You can't just take it to any shop and despite what some guys say about the availability of parts in Vancouver those are common parts but some parts will take a while to get and cost a fair bit of money. Plus those years of Skylines aren't that pretty and alot of the Japan import cars I've seen aren't in that great of shape.

If you only have one car, the delsol for sure. If it is going to be your second car maybe the Skyline if it was in decent shape and you can afford the upkeap.

Old turbo cars mean a lot of up-keep.

Newer N/A cars not so much.

Lots of up-keep means lots of moola...but they that's all you...

I had a Del Sol w/ the b16 in it too. I know its not as quick as my Silvia but it did go pretty damn fast and sounded like a monster when the vtec kicked in!

Ture it would be easier to maintain a Sol then a Skyline, and I just recently crossed-over into the Nissan scene so this would also be a tough choice for me.

In the end, I would go with a Skyline too. It has more seats, room, more HP and a classic look.

one factor that might contribute is winter.. which car is better for our 8 month winters?.. i would say del sol but only by a slim margin, i think i would go for the skyline because although it would be easier to 'upkeep' the delsol the delsol cant 'keepup' with the skyline

also

heavyD.. love the pic in your sig
oh so sexay good luck with the sale

Personally, I rather dislike both of the choices. For honda, the delsol was in my opinion one of their weaker cars. On the flipside, the majority of skyline owners are buying them as conformists.

Given only the choice between these two cars the delsol is probably a better choice, as more parts are availible in the event something breaks.

the novelty of having a "jdm car" would wear off quite quickly.

would you ever buy a car sight unseen? I wouldnt.

if someone imported a JDM garbage truck I'm sure people on this site would be all over it.

I agree with this. But skylines are kind of conformist, but really what car isn't? if everyone is so different we sould see more daewoo's on the road.

Strictaly performance speaking, the skyline look's pretty good. RWD is more fun, and turbos's too.

Cost to maintain a skyline might be the deciding factor.
