was in Perta Plata

I would recommend this hotel...

It was 3 all inclusive hotels in 1...

At night you could go to the disco in the hotel, or play at the casino, also a strip with stores on it...

Nightly shows at all 3 hotels.. it takes about 15 min to walk from one end to the other...

Food was amazing, buffets every night :drool:

Just stay away from the hotdogs...

Went last Sept and am going to go next Sept/Winter aswell.

We went about 20 mins east of Porta Plata in a little hotel. Ended up inbetween 2 big towns so it was easy shopping and chilling all the time.

I will get the name of it when I goto a buddies house again tonight.


There is one pub I recommend you go visit. He is from Calgary and decided to open up a pub down there so hes very relaxed and willing to help us tourists out, great guy, kept track of all the flames games last season aswell! I will get the name of that too.

Basically, we went for 2 weeks and that wasn't enough time, bring lots of money and lots of time and you will have a ton of fun.


Tip aswell, most of the tours are rather expensive and relatively the same so check them out, I got a video of one tour I went one, cheapest one there and it was crazy fun except for me whippin out all over, but my buddy and the family had tons of fun.

It really matters on your age group, if you are younger under 23, I would recommend around Christmas / New Years, thats when most of the younger people go, but New years is also the most expensive time, If you are older you should go Some time mid november, when the weather here gets colder, its still +30 every day down there... For new years you are looking at about $2000 for an All Inclusive hotel, but it really matters where you stay, on the off season, you are looking closer to $1500

Thats for a week..

If you think about it, its really not that bad.... Food served, Breckfast, Lunch, Dinner, and whatever you desire.. Also get alcohol, all you can drink...

Its a different kind of drunk down there aswell.. when you drink, you need ALOT more to get drunk, and when you wake up the next day your fine, you just go relax on the beach like nothing happened...


We would get back every morning around 4 or 5AM and get up around 10 perfectly normal.. Expect for 1 night, which I'm not gunna get into.. :barf:

Also if you do go down, bring atleast $50USD in $1 bills for tips...

I'm gunna go down again for New Years hopefully, best vacation by far...

Dominican was teh best experience of my life.

2 Strippers from montreal and a chick from New York invited me up to their room for a 'show' on New Years.

We went during Spring Break a few years ago to Punta Cana. Stayed at one of the Barcelo Resorts. All I can remember was it was 4 - 4-Star Hotels and 1 - 5 Star. It was like its own little city. Each Hotel had its own restaurants (all the 4 Stars could eat at any of the 4 Stars) and the 5 Star could eat anywhere :D . Each hotel had their own buffet (which anyone could use) and their own restaurant (steakhouse, Italian, Seafood, etc). Which was neat. There was an 18-hole gofl course, casino and indoor gym. All in all, it was great, would love to go back... :)

High season is on most holidays, like christmas, easter New Years.. Etc....


Mom said the truck is about 1100 off season for a week and about $1500 for 2 weeks..

Which includes airfare....

Around 2000 a week in high season...
