Saw this thing at about 6:45 this evening (friday the 19th) On deerfoot just before 64th. The car was wippin along, it was doing probably 90km/h which was the average at the time from all the GOD DAMNED RUBBERNECKERS.

anyways, here's the photo. I followed it down the onramp from memorial and then all the way down to 64th, where I passed it and then i went off on beddington, but i think he continued north on deerfoot.

Cool, my guess is they're getting an early start on testing in preperations for next years' event. I haven't talked to the team lately, so I don't know exactly why it was out there.

Take notes people...THIS is a proper spotted thread.

Would be scary as shit driving that thing on Deerfoot...like that road isn't crazy enough in a normal car.

Haha. I saw that too. Except I saw it going West on 16 ave at about 6:30pm tonight. That thing was crazy low. Low enough to drive under semi-trailers, like I saw in a movie last time.

Thanks for the comments, i was actually impressed that the car could go that fast... i had heard about it before, but when you actually see it its quite impressive.

Was it being escorted by anyone, say the police?

The better question is: Was there someone in it? It looks rather small.

no that bubble where someone would sit is just there to kill some of the aerodynamic efficiency of the car...

Well its a pic from behind so I can't see the face obviously. It looks like a lump more than a place for the guys head.

That lump is where the persons head is and they are essentially laying in the car, it was not escorted by police but it did have a lead and chase vehicle right infront and behind it with yellow flashing lights on top.

How is he able to check to see his sides or his rear?, I wouldn't drive that not knowing whats coming up behind, especially since pretty much any car would destroy that thing to bits, and any truck would go right over it.

Great spot though.

thats why he has one car in front of and one car behind him and probably extensive radio contact between the 3 of them.
