I want to know more about the stuff that you wrap your exhaust system and headers with to keep the heat in. It looks like some sort of white tape, I don't really know too much about it so I was looking for some more info.

Is this something you can do yourself, and buy from a performance shop?
Should you just wrap your headers or do the whole exhaust system?
Besides keeping your engine bay cooler what other benefits does it have?

Thanks for the help guys. :)

it is to keep heat away from plastic/rubber material and

You dont wrap your whole exhaust.

its like a fiber glass tape and you can buy kits or just rolls as far as i know. you would only need to do your headers or anything under the hood... but, ive also heard if you get water up in them, rust, rust, rust. check summitracing.com

It's called header wrap, and unless you have a specific heat issue right now, you don't need it. Your money will be better spent on valve cover polish or something.
